Product name: The Korn-Kabob Funding request: $1 million Use of funds: Product design upgrades, packaging design, marketing, and inventory.
Function: The original and still the only one handed corn on the cob holder.
Problem addressed and solved: Corn on the cob is messy, hard to hold on to and difficult to butter and season. Not any more. The Korn-Kabob is easy to use, so adding butter and seasoning is no problem.
Traction/History:
Sold 5000 in 9 days at the Oregon State Fair. People were buying them by the dozen.
Placed in all "Made in Oregon" stores. All sold out in 2 weeks. Re-ordered.
Cold called 102 independent grocers throughout the Northwest and 98 bought on the cold call. All sold out.
Made it to the final cut with Fred Meyer, before they became part of the Kroger family. I was told they couldn't fit it into the schematics of all stores. Buyer called me back the following year and wanted me to re-submit.
T.A.M. 68000 grocers throughout the country and roughly 125,000 total addressable grocery and other retail. Our 3year plan is to be in 10% of that total or 12,500.
These stores average 2500 shoppers daily which would be an incredible 31,250,000 sets of eyes on the product every single day.
If one of every 1000 shoppers buys, that's 31,250 4/packs of Korn Kabobs every single day!
At $2 profit per 4/pack that would be $62,500 profit per day.
$1 Million buys 20% and that's $12,500 back to investor daily. The math is correct. It's truly one of those "why didnt i think of that" moments. Please message me at your convenience. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.
