Opportunity
Problem
The Elk Grove Unified School District is the largest school district in Northern California with 64,000 enrolled students.  Due to the size of the school district, year round schools are the only way to service the current students, leaving a need for day camp services.  In addition to this problem, the current pandemic has further limited resources available to families in need of day camps, as well as indoor facilities for their student athletes to train.
Solution
The solution to this growing problem is build more schools and recreational facilities faster, but that is not a viable option.   The only immediate solution to help alleviate the needs for families are day camps and other forms of child care being the only options for relief, along with more facilities that address the need of indoor sports and training.
Market
The target market for The Ball Academy begins with local Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball members, as we are affiliated with AAU and currently coaching a local program. There are over 500 AAU basketball teams and 200 volleyball teams in Sacramento County that are in need of a facility for practice and skills training. The market for servicing the student athlete is wide open.
Competition
There is currently no competition within Sacramento County with the only competition being in neighboring Placer County, Rocklin Unified School District with 14,100 enrolled students.  This is the heart of the YBA (the competition) demographic.
