Tartag is building a new standard for patient positioning in diagnostic X-ray imaging. Today, positioning relies heavily on individual technologist experience, leading to variability, repeat exams, inefficiency, and inconsistent image quality. Despite advances in imaging technology, there are few simple tools available at the point of care to guide and standardize positioning.

Tartag addresses this gap with a suite of low-cost, easy-to-use devices that introduce measurement and repeatability into everyday imaging workflows. The initial product is a wearable inclinometer badge that allows technologists to quickly measure angles during positioning without disrupting workflow, serving as an entry point for adoption and behavior change. From there, Tartag expands into clinical alignment tools—such as anatomical guides for lateral knee imaging—and ultimately into room-level systems that standardize positioning across entire departments.

The business model combines individual adoption with institutional sales. Entry-level products are designed for rapid uptake by technologists, while higher-value tools and systems are sold directly to imaging departments, hospitals, and health systems, creating a pathway from grassroots usage to enterprise-wide standardization.

Tartag’s customers include X-ray technologists, radiology departments, imaging centers, and hospitals. The company is initially focused on high-volume, repeat-sensitive exams where positioning variability has the greatest clinical and economic impact.

Founded from direct clinical experience, Tartag is focused on simple, practical solutions that deliver immediate value, with the long-term goal of becoming the standard layer between patient positioning and image acquisition.
