My name is Heath Cary and I run StarBrix Lego in Arlington TX. I have for the past year and a half have been selling on Ebay off and on in my spare time. I have accumulated over 50k in inventory and so far I have had positive sales and growth every month. However, I decided to make the switch from Ebay to a brick and mortar location back at the end of January after being tired of paying Ebay's high fees and shipping costs. I am currently seeing about 8 to 10 customers a day and average about 40.00 a transaction and have started to see that number grow with the small amount that I have had left for advertising. I buy and sell new and bulk lego sets, pieces and minifigures. Everything is washed and cleaned then sorted and I rebuild sets back to factory removing any broken or non-usable parts. I am currently setup as a sole proprietor but would like to switch over to an LLC by the end of the year and be able to hire on a couple smart and lego saavy helpers. Currently, I have a one year lease at the location which runs me about 1400.00 a month but there is not as much foot traffic as I would like. I have been working with a couple of schools and day care centers to do some events as well as birthday parties in the next month or two. The funds I receive would help pay off a couple of small personal loans that I took out when I first moved into this location which would allow me to use the existing funds to increase my inventory when it becomes available. Also these funds would allow me to do some better advertising to reach more clients. The current return on bulk lots is around 300% to 500% and new in box inventory is about 30% to 70%. I have several scouts that look for and help me locate new inventory weekly. I really hope that someone out there can help me with this. As far as future plans I would like to have a strong customer base by the end of the year along with growing my sales and increased inventory that I can move my location to a more dense retail and higher foot traffic area about 1 mile up the road.
