Splendid Life Cake Bar

Raising $100k to grow my company and my brand around Houston and surrounding markets

My family just laid to rest my Aunt Ruthie, one of the last matriarchs left who was tragically murdered in the Buffalo, NY Tops Supermarket shooting.  I was scared to write or ask for help, but now more than ever as a black-owned businesswoman, I want to share my grandmother's 1937 recipes with everyone who wants a sweet treat and a story.  Splendid Life Cake Bar was created because I missed my grandmother, and I started cooking, which was our thing to do together, and I realized I had made too much.  So I found a Farmers Market for the weekend, and the rest is history.

My entire focus is dedicated to Splendid Life Cake Bar.  Currently, we sell online, but predominantly at the 4 Farmer's Markets that we are in.  Splendid Life Cake Bar when not at the Farmer's Market is delivery only, based on we do not have a permanent kitchen that we cook out of.  We have been state and federally certified for the past 3 years, and we do have our LLC.  Our customer base is in Houston and the surrounding areas, including Louisiana, with a demographic age range of 12-85. Currently, we are an 80% in-person to 20% percent online business. Within the next 3 months, we plan on expanding into our own kitchen, and by this time next year, we are looking to have a food truck and expand on our commissary kitchen by opening it up to the public.

Our food truck will be desserts only, such as cakes, pies, bread, lemonades, and coffee.  This will be different from other food trucks in Houston that are categorized as dessert trucks because they sell either ice cream or popsicles and not the desserts we specialize in.  To achieve this, Splendid Life Cake Bar currently had a team of 4 and is looking to rapidly expand.
Meghan Clark- Owner and Baker, Deborah Clark- COO (Chief Operating Officer, and two employees.

More now today, with all of these senseless tragedies, and loved ones being lost, I miss my grandmother, and want to share her story through food.  To do that, I would need assistance.  I am asking for $75,000 to $100,000 to expand into my own kitchen and start the process of procuring my food truck. I estimate within 3-5 years, my  food truck profits will allow me to do the following:
* Grow my food truck business
* Re-pay my loan
* Open my brick and mortar
