The Great Alberta Winery and Vineyard

We look to establish a grape-growing industry in Alberta, using very specific and acclimated techniques and choices to grow cold-climate hardy hybrid-rootstock varietals carefully chosen. With B.C now looking north and highlighting the Peace River region in particular, now is the time to get ahead of the curve, position Alberta to be at the leading edge of a changing market as the grapes mature, and demonstrate the opportunity to establish a new industry and grow Albertan agriculture even further. Our research has proven the viability of growing hybrid vinifera wine grapes in the Peace River valley, specifically on our selected site. Our location has conditions which meet the requirements of wine grapes to be grown as regards temperature (assessed via growing degree days), precipitation, the soil type and pH, the grape varietals which have been carefully selected, and the site location and layout itself.
