My name is Deandre Desir and I am an ear training and music theory faculty member at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division, musicology & performance faculty at the Kaufman Music Center, and graduate researcher at Columbia University in music and music education. My undergraduate education was at The Juilliard School and afterward I earned a professional certificate in leadership from Harvard University. Currently also an active performer, I have performed multiple times at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Verizon Hall, NJPAC, Alice Tully Hall, and other locations. I am currently a guest artist at the Curtis Institute of Music and have been selected to participate in the American Musicological Society Conference and the Northeast Philosophy of Education Seminar discuss research and present findings.
