Solar + is forming a for-profit B-Corp founded to advocate for “forgotten” communities through clean energy and infrastructure solutions. Solar + is a multidimensional team with over 100 years of combined experience in renewable energy infrastructure and software development.  We design and build microgrids using hydrogen as a smart load to create another valuable commodity rather than curtail peak production. We are targeting sectors that are heavily reliant on diesel to provide a 100% hydrocarbon free energy and production environment.  Our solution involves blockchain credit tracking, renewable production verification and commodity trading.

A Problem Worth Solving:

Energy costs are driven by monopolistic utilities and consumers lack freedom of choice and fair price for energy consumed
Current commercial, industrial, and residential solar adopters are unable to monetize their excess energy and ancillary grid services
Communities are unable to realize the economical benefits of renewable energy due to utility grid inefficiencies

Our Solution:

Software solution that monetizes generators excess energy and ancillary grid services through virtual ownership
Communities are able lower their cost of energy by accessing economic benefits of renewable energy resources
Incentivizes renewable energy solutions through the aggregated grassroots community efforts at the small business and homeowner level

Our innovation provides mechanisms to address these shortcomings through virtual ownership of generation credits, allowing a systemic approach to buy-in and costs rather than an individual approach, in a method that is adaptable to changing load profiles by design.

Market Opportunity

Blockchain-enabled Grid Services Compensation:
The integration of blockchain technology to convert grid services into tokens introduces a novel approach to renewable energy generation compensation. This ensures transparency, increases efficiency and creates a unique market for blockchain-based energy transactions.

Federal Funds Available For Additional Infrastructure:
$2 trillion federal funds made available through various federal funding opportunities, including: Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Bi-partisan Infrastructure Bill, and many others.

Untapped Potential of Excess Solar Generation:
Our solution provides a mechanism to effectively monitor, track, and compensate excess energy put on the grid, turning a wasted resource into a valuable asset.

Financial Inclusion for Low-Income Families:
Our technology innovation addresses this gap and opens up a new market segment where low-income families can actively participate in and benefit from the renewable energy ecosystem.

Commercial and Industrial (C&I)  Incentivization:
There is no incentive for commercial and industrial developers to adopt solar generation outside of localized energy savings. Our solution incentivizes developers to not only adopt, but to over size their system and put more clean energy on the grid.

Purchase Power Agreement (PPA) Mismatch:
Current PPAs require homeowners to buy energy produced from renewable generation system.  The utility doesn’t pay for over production and  electrical savings are eliminated.  Thousands of PPA customers would benefit

Alignment with Clean Energy Goals:
The US Department of Energy has a goal to add 300 terawatt hours (TWh) of additional clean electricity by 2030. Our solution directly aligns with this goal, positioning itself as a catalyst for expediting the transition to clean energy by ensuring that all energy consumers and generators benefit from renewable energy.

Pilot Deployment

In our pilot scale deployment, we will need revenue-grade meters installed behind the meter of a 1MW generation site and at least one concentrated building with our off-takers.

We will use seed funding to develop and deploy a blockchain solution that tracks energy production and consumption to be reconciled through smart contracts that apply credits to community solar members in real-time.

Technology, Equipment, and Labor Fee’s:
