True North Canine Scent Trailing: Pointing you in the Right Direction
Through an effective and innovative approach, True North Canine provides peace of mind, empowerment and safety for individuals, families and communities. True North Canine Scent Trailing is a dog training business, with a passion for people. We focus on highly trained scent Trailing and Detection dogs; with three different service target audiences.
1. Scent Trailing dogs, focusing on finding lost people.
Target A: vulnerable populations (I.E., clients experiencing life with memory loss, children/youth on the Autism Spectrum and at risk youth).
Target B: Outdoor Adventurists
Target C: training of handlers in occupational fields requiring “trailing” dogs (I.E., re-purposing current working police dogs).
Target D: sale of already trained dogs to people looking to find missing pets.
How: Through the highly specialized training and sale of Scent Discriminant dogs and the sale and use of Scent Preservation kits; designed and distributed by Scent Evidence K9. (Scent Preservation Kits provide the dog with an uncontaminated scent sample.).
Current Assets: 1 dog completing its human scent Discriminant trailing training with Scent Evidence K9.
2. Scent detection dogs, focusing on various substances. (Excluding explosives.
Target A: sale of these already trained dogs to wineries, Bed Bug exterminators, Invasive Species Biologists Etc.
Target B: training of handlers/dogs (I.E., re-purposing current working dogs).
How: through highly specialized odour training, specific to the individual/organization’s needs.
Current assets: 1 dog completing its training for TCA contamination with True North Canine Scent Trailing.
3. Service Dogs, focusing on medical alert.
Target A: individuals needing Diabetic Alert dogs.
Target B: individuals experiencing life with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.
How: Through the selection and specialized training of particular dogs to be placed, through an intensive program, with individuals with the aforementioned disabilities.
