My Msc research at the U of S has achieved patent pending status. It is plasma-irradiated bovine gelatin containing soy meal for aquaculture feeds. The recipe to fit nutritional profiles of specific species is possible. Trials have shown the feed does not break down after 72 hours. This can revolutionize the aquaculture feed industry as dry pellets foul waters when not eaten quickly. This new feed can greatly reduce filtration costs and disease in aquaculture. Real-world feed trials of this feed are beginning soon in Belgium with pacific white leg shrimp as the species fed.
