1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY (Introduction)
Samtiana seeks strategic funding to establish and expand a sustainable, profitable, and scalable agricultural enterprise in Margibi County, Liberia. The project is designed to increase domestic food production, strengthen food security, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic growth through integrated crop production, livestock farming, food processing, storage, marketing, and distribution.
Agriculture remains the backbone of Liberia's economy and provides livelihoods for the majority of the population. Despite Liberia's abundant fertile land, favorable climate, and agricultural potential, the country continues to import substantial quantities of food products that could be produced domestically. This dependence on imports creates an opportunity for strategic agricultural investment that can generate economic returns while addressing national food security challenges.
Our project will develop approximately 500 acres of productive farmland dedicated to cultivating rice, cassava, vegetables, fruits, and high-value cash crops. In addition, the project will establish poultry and livestock production systems, irrigation infrastructure, storage facilities, processing centers, transportation networks, and farmer training programs.
The project is expected to directly benefit more than 1,500 farmers and households while creating over 250 direct jobs and 500 indirect employment opportunities.
Our company is focused on Agriculture and Food production, processing, preservation, promotion, and profitability. We want to help increase local food production, support farmers, and create jobs. Our main activities will include farming, buying crops from and selling to local farmers, processing agricultural products, and selling them to consumers and businesses.
Liberia possesses vast agricultural potential, fertile land, and hardworking farmers. Yet the country continues to rely heavily on imported food products that can be produced locally. Our agricultural enterprise is being established to help transform this challenge into an opportunity.
We are committed to increasing local food production, strengthening food security, creating sustainable employment opportunities, and improving the livelihoods of farming communities throughout Liberia. Through strategic investments in crop production, agricultural processing, storage, transportation, and market development, we aim to build a profitable and socially impactful agricultural business that contributes to national economic growth.
The project will operate under the guiding principle of:
Production • Processing • Preservation • Promotion • Profitability
By integrating these five pillars into a single business model, Samtiana will create multiple revenue streams, reduce post-harvest losses, improve market access, increase farmers' incomes, and establish a financially sustainable agribusiness operation.
Over the three-year implementation period, the project is expected to:
- Develop 500 acres of productive farmland
- Train and support over 1,500 farmers
- Create more than 250 direct jobs
- Generate over 500 indirect jobs
- Increase household incomes by at least 40%
- Improve local food security
- Reduce dependence on imported food products
- Strengthen agricultural value chains throughout Liberia
From a financial and investment perspective, your proposed agricultural project has several strong advantages, but it also faces risks that investors, banks, and development agencies will carefully evaluate.
