RPG Storytelling LLC is a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) design and publishing company which is developing a new campaign world gaming environment utilizing the Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition) game system developed by Wizards of the Coast. This new campaign world, called Myths of Gaea, is based on ancient Celtic and Greek mythology and is set on an alternate reality version of our own planet Earth (Gaea or Gaia is the ancient Greek word for Earth). It takes place 42,000 years into our past when the Celtic and Greek deities who supposedly created our world were still living out their mythologies. The initial published product will focus on the lands of Haeslios (England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales), with possible adventures in areas of Krioslos (Europe), the Fae Realm (called Tir na nOg), the Underworld (Hades & Tartarus), and the legendary lost city of Atlantis. Future expansions will incorporate additional Gaean versions of Earth-based continents (i.e., North & South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, etc.) and the various pantheons, mythologies, and creatures of the ancient cultures that resided there.
As we are utilizing the actual mythologies of these ancient cultures and the many cryptozoological creatures they imagined, we will also be incorporating numerous tips, tools, and methodologies that educators and group leaders can utilize to more easily prepare and lead educational games for students and other young game players. We are currently working with various educators and educational groups to help develop these tools and methodologies.
In addition, numerous adult and young adult players, who may choose to take part in non-educational games, will also be able to utilize these same materials to create well-developed characters and collaboratively create and tell fantastical stories within this world of possibilities. We believe that gamers of all ages should be able to not only enjoy a fun game with their friends and loved ones, but that they should also be able to learn about our own Earth's mythologies and how collaborative and individual storytelling has evolved and expanded across human civilizations over the last several thousand years.
In addition to the creation and publication of our own products, which will include associated merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, and stickers, we will also be offering two different services that will directly benefit our consumers and other TTRPG creators and designers. We will be offering online livestream hosting services to creators and gaming groups who would like to share the adventures of their games with an online fanbase via the RPG Storytelling LLC branded channels on streaming services such as Twitch and YouTube. Our primary client-focused service, however, will be that of publication assistance (e.g., editing, formatting, fundraising, printing, distribution, and marketing) for other TTRPG creators and designers who would like to share their creations with other players and game leader on a much broader scale than is currently available to most TTRPG creators. For both of these service offerings, we will promote the efforts of all creators, with an emphasis on creators and designers from traditionally marginalized and minority communities (e.g., LGBTQIA+, disabled, ethnocultural, etc.) so that they can share the stories that particularly special within their communities and cultures.
I am currently raising $300,000 to build a team of creators and professionals who will work together to complete the writing, artwork, design, and advertising of our primary product, Myths of Gaea, and the various services that we offer. The raised funds will be utilized to prepare Myths of Gaea for an eventual Kickstarter campaign and the marketing, publication, and distribution process that will follow said campaign. The funds will also supplement those that are garnered from the purchase of our available services and merchandise.
