Royal Rap Towel

My name is Greg Dokos. I have patent pending status on a bath towel. I am looking for $50k to engineer prototypes of three sizes. Manufacture several thousand units for sale, a couple of prototypes for testing in hospitals, a website and an instructional video.

 

 

 

• Bath towel
• Soft, silk like, porous wick fabric. Shaped like an envelope or pocket.
• Sewing or textile bonding.
• Reusable open/close apparatus, Velcro, zipper, snaps etc.
• Sponge

 

Description

The towel comes in sizes from washcloth to bath sheet. The towel has one or more pockets or envelopes sewn or bonded to the towel. The top or bottom edges are left open. The open edge has a reusable open/close apparatus fixed to it. Inside each envelope is a sponge. The resealable opening allows you to wash, ring out and replace the sponge independently.

 

Use

• Place wick fabric next to chosen skin area.
• Press gently, forcing air from sponge.
• Evenly decrease pressure. This will draw moisture from skin, through wick fabric and into the sponge. This eliminates the damage caused by friction and roughness associated with normal towel use.

 

Market

Skin care experts and Dermatologists have been telling us for years to pat dry our faces and sensitive areas. Circular, side to side, up and down scrubbing motion, damages hair follicles and skin cells. My towel eliminates this damage and irritation. Making the skin care and Beauty Market a natural fit.

People who have skin disease like psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer, cellulitis, etc. would benefit from the kinder gentler drying.

Post operative patients with staples or sutures. People with damaged skin, scrapes, cuts, gashes as well as sunburns. The Elderly with thin fragile skin. Babies with delicate skin, all would benefit from using a kinder gentler form of drying.

 

Marketplace

The towel is new and innovative. It was conceived during the COVID-19 lockdown. I was looking for ways to pamper myself and make my life easier. I believe that people from all economic levels will purchase and benefit from my towel for many different reasons. Beauty and skin care, simple pampering to physical, medical and environmental skin disorders. Towel sizes are universal, and envelopes for each towel size would be identical. There would be no need to reprogram manufacturing specs for each size of towel. You simply exchange the quality of the components for each economic target market. From Walmart to Macy’s , Spas and Boutique Shops to 5 Diamond Resorts. I believe my towel has a niche in each market.

 

Hospitals

There are patients that require to be bathed in bed. My towel would be ideal for this bathing format. Not only would the patient be more comfortable, he’d require less movement. The Nurse would exert less energy and the process would be less stressful for both.

 

Summary

There have been no advancements in the towel, except for fiber makeup, since its inception. I feel the changes I’ve made will benefit consumers for reasons previously mentioned. The growth forecast for the bath towel industry has been unaffected by the Covid pandemic. The worldwide CAGR and National USKBA Studies have shown +16.1% K&B project sales growth from 2020 to 2021 nationally, and an estimated average sale’s growth of +6.1%  in bath towels worldwide until 2026.

From the research that I’ve done , not only do I feel that I have a successful product to market, but I will also receive the non provisional Utility Patent I have filled for. Even though the economy is somewhat suffering. The towel industry seems to be unaffected. I believe that people will buy my towel because it is more efficient and adds a layer of luxury to their normal daily life. I feel now more than ever consumers are looking to be pampered anywhere and in anyway possible. I honestly believe that my towel with the right people on board is here to stay.
