Robotic Skyscraper Window Cleaning Using Drones

Raising 1Mil to finish prototype Version 2 for launching to the market

My name is Jhon Arias, CEO of Windrobo. We will specialize in robotic window cleaning for skyscrapers.

The idea for Windrobo originated from my experience in building maintenance. My clients frequently inquired about exterior window cleaning for their high-rise buildings in NYC. Traditional methods, such as ropes and platforms, presented safety risks and high costs, making it unfeasible for me to offer this service at that time.

However, with the increasing construction of skyscrapers in NYC and globally, I became intrigued by the possibility of a solution. My research indicated that technologies like drones and robotic arms could be the answer. That is why Windrobo will offer a new exterior window cleaning service for skyscrapers. We will utilize an innovative, integrated system featuring a drone equipped with a robotic arm, designed to clean windows efficiently and safely.

Mission
Windrobo seeks to provide unparalleled window cleaning services using state-of-the-art drone technology for a broad spectrum of clients that own and maintain large scale properties.

Our vision is to become global leaders in the cleaning of skyscraper windows using the franchising model.

Currently, we're in the seed capital phase, funding development through the founders' resources. We've successfully built our first prototype and are now focused on the next steps.
Our plan for this year is to finalize the second prototype, conduct thorough testing to ensure it is fully operational, and then launch it to market.

Problem
The increasing number of skyscrapers being built each year worldwide has led to a rise in their height and architectural complexity. As a result, cleaning the glass on these structures has become more difficult, risky, and expensive using traditional methods.  Additionally, there is a decreasing interest in this type of work among younger generations.

Solution
To address this issue, our company is developing a solution that utilizes a drone equipped with a robotic arm. This innovative approach integrates various technologies to provide a more efficient and cost-effective window cleaning process for skyscrapers, significantly reducing the need for workers to perform tasks at dangerous heights.

With the use of our system we can achieve the following:
* Improved safety
* Increased efficiency through swarm system utilization
* Reduced operational costs
* Access to hard-to-reach areas
* Utilization of high-end technologies

}  Government Facilities
}   Annual revenues exceeding $10,000,000
}   Spend $30,000 per month with the business

Here are some details about the technologies behind the Windrobo’s system:

**Multirotor UAV**
We have selected and designed a multirotor UAV to act as a flying platform. This allows us to reach locations that are difficult to access. The UAV is combined with a robotic manipulator, enabling it to interact with its surroundings in a precise manner.

**Robotic Arm**
We have developed a robotic arm to compensate for any drone movement imperfections. Its one-meter length ensures safe operation by preventing the propellers from colliding with the window. The arm also helps keep the adapted tools in the desired position.
Another key feature is the integrated cleaning system, which enables untethered aerial manipulator operation. This self-contained loop allows the cleaning solution to be used and reused in flight, without needing any ground or roof connections.

** Artificial Vision**
In the Windrobo’s project, artificial vision segments the glass needing cleaning to determine its size and position relative to the drone. This data is used for both drone and robotic arm trajectories.

**Digital Twin**
Our digital twin is a virtual representation of the system that accurately mirrors the real one. Essential for our complex system, it reduces costs, improves safety, detects bugs, optimizes performance, tests multiple scenarios, and accelerates development.

**Photogrammetry**
Windrobo uses photogrammetry as flight planning for the autonomous version of the system, and coordination of swarm flights. It is also used for real time multi-aircraft monitoring and management, creation of simulation environments, and as an additional service offering.

Window cleaning service
Windrobo will offer exterior window cleaning service for low- and high-rise buildings, by using our own Robotic Window cleaning drone showed previously. This semi-autonomous system just needs pilots to make sure it is working properly and according to the planned procedure.
