Rio is an innovative app designed to connect the amateur service provider to the everyday civilian. How common is it for the average blue collar or specialized worker to be unhappy with their chosen field of work or wish that they had followed their heart and pursued their passion for music or writing instead of listening to their parents and becoming a doctor or engineer? Most people adopt hobbies later on in life when they are retried or have more times on their hands, however; it doesn't have to be like this! Rio's purpose is to let curiosity be your guide and create a personalized experience between people trying to learn new skills and people who have general backgrounds in certain fields. Imagine someone want's to learn how to become an avid cyclist, they have a bike, they have the basic equipment but they just don't know where to start. Official, organized cycling classes can be expensive, overwhelming and far in proximity. This is where Rio comes in, the app connects you to more 'advanced' cyclists who are willing to leverage their experience as an entry level one on one class within your area code. Obviously, the scope of Rio does not solely include recreational outdoor activities, it can range from anything such as knitting, cooking, spearfishing, coding etc.. Based of a persons personal affinities, Rio will sort through submitted services and create a specific queue of classes. The submitted services will be either accepted or denied based off background checks, price and content of the service. Users can either sign up for free and buy each class/service individually or pay a monthly subscription fee of $35 a month to unlock ten services for that period of time. Classes and service providers will be rated after their service is over. The target demographic of RIO are adventurous young adults as well as middle aged to onset elderly adults who wish to broaden their horizons and discover their true passions! The fantastic team behind this idea are a demure group of locally outsourced software engineers, a UX design lead and a group of upbeat sales agents who are ready to raise revenue and notoriety.
