REMA Sleep Inc

Wearable technology for sleep apnea

REMA Sleep, Inc. is an early stage, pre-revenue medical device company addressing the broad and burgeoning US obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) market. There is growing interest in devices used for the treatment of OSA by toning and reshaping the tissues of the upper airway (UA) that are a major cause of OSA. Specifically, our patent-pending devices are designed to be used for short periods of time during the day to emit gentle signals that tone and enhance the UA, non-invasively. The active treatment protocol is envisaged as 15-30 minutes per day for 9-12 months, during which time a patient may continue to wear their own sleep device, if required, at night. Our preliminary studies have shown that daytime biostimulation is potentially effective in the treatment of OSA, especially if used on consecutive days in patients with OSA. Therefore, our biostimulation devices aim to prevent UA collapse, and be well tolerated. In addition, the low cost, ease of use and favorable safety profile of our wearable device provides an opportunity to offer this novel treatment to patients diagnosed with OSA, especially those that have poor adherence/intolerance of CPAP masks, surgically implantable electrodes or oral mouthpieces for OSA.
