Refined Imaging, Inc. (RI) is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana diversified imaging company specializing in x-ray interferometry, which is globally recognized as the best imaging technique to view small details in metals, polymers or humans.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) provided a grant to RI which allowed for the design of a lung imaging device that is fast, quantitative, and more sensitive to early-stage lung disease than a subjective pulmonary function test (PFT). This grant allowed RI to image 20 patients in a pilot study in Pennington Biomedical Research Center.

NIH also issued a grant to RI to perform a national marketing analysis to determine if the technology was wanted, needed and was willing to pay for it.  The overwhelming conclusion was yes. This technology has been thoroughly vetted through a 500-patient COPD clinical trial illustrating that the technology works. This market includes over 30M world-wide COPD sufferers (fourth leading cause of death). A national market survey concluded the market wants the technology, needs it and is willing to pay for it. Financial projections are extremely lucrative.
