Our business started in 2012 as an online selling platform for imported vinyl records. The business grew fast and eventually we opened a retail location but kept the online sales going.
We wanted a larger scale business that could generate a greater amount of revenue without having to compete with the likes of Amazon, other large online retailers and local stores selling the same products. Additionally we wanted a product that would be purchased and used time and again. We established a new business in 2017 manufacturing records sleeve accessories. These are inner and outer sleeves, which vinyl collectors use to sleeve their records and record jackets for protection. Record labels, vinyl pressing plants, record stores and distributors use our sleeves for their vinyl record creations, to cover their inventory of records, and/or to re-sell to the general market.
Currently, we are selling to the retail and wholesale marketplace. We are working with one manufacturing plant to create all of our products. We are maxing their capacity for our production needs, and are selling out of product before they can produce more. We have numerous other products we would like to have manufactured but have a two-fold problem of production capacity with the plant and money to balance the stock levels for the current product we need to keep on hand, all the while managing the financial requirements of our suppliers.
Ultimately, we feel that with a capital investment in the short term we could level off production capacity vs. demand. We can work with our current supplier plus bring in other suppliers to expand our product offering, Thus growing revenue by being able to supply a larger portion of the marketplace. For the longer term, we think establishing our own production line would allow us to bring our products to market at the lowest possible cost as well as creating a business to go after other customers outside of the music industry. Plastic “bags”, which our sleeves are considered, are used by many businesses and industry sectors.
