Progressive Youth Care and Consultancy (PYCC) is an established, licensed and accredited Queensland provider specialising in residential care, crisis intervention and therapeutic support for vulnerable children and young people with complex needs. Over recent years, we have built a substantial workforce, developed specialist services and supported some of Queensland's most vulnerable children through incredibly challenging circumstances. Recent Queensland Child Safety reforms have hit our sector hard resulting in significant placement losses, financial pressure and difficult workforce decisions. However, we believe these challenges also present an opportunity to demonstrate that there is a better, more sustainable way to care for children. Our vision is to move beyond traditional residential care by developing innovative, community-based alternatives that focus on early intervention, crisis stabilisation, family restoration and long-term stability. Through initiatives such as our TESSA Therapeutic Emergency Support, Stabilisation and Assessment model, we aim to demonstrate how earlier intervention and targeted support can reduce unnecessary residential placements.
