I am working to purchase Precision Industries Inc., this is a small business with a great track record of delivering high quality products at a competitive price and on time delivery. The business is able to take an idea from concept, design and into production. I have been in the tool and die trade for 17 years, I previously worked for SC Johnson, Dow Corning (Dow, DuPont and SK Siltron), Delta Community College and now have been the shop foreman for almost 2 years at Precision. In this time I have worked closely with the owners to learn the business end of the industry, meet clients and improve customer relations. All of these have been successful, in addition to this I am set up to work with the Flint and Genesee Economic Alliance and serve the public as a minority business owner and grow manufacturing in these communities.
The business is unique since it serves a small portion of automotive, green house supplies and dunnage needs. Being small in this industry is one of our strongest attributes and allows to change production needs quickly without sacrificing quality. When looking at the mold making and precision machining aspect of the business, driving a higher profit is low hanging fruit. Historically the mold makers were of an older generation and did not utilize modern machining techniques. For example on one job alone compared to previous quoting practices and using my new methods our profit (pure profit) will be 85% higher than planned.
Business ownership has always been a dream of mine, I am highly determined and willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill my dream to own a machining business.
