PRD Tech Inc.

Patented, Cost Effective, Non-Toxic, Non-Solvent Based Process for Extracting Rare Earth Minerals from Coal Ash

PRD Tech Inc. has patented a non-toxic, non-solvent based process for extracting Rare Earth Elements (R.E.E.'s) from toxic coal ash (by-product of coal fired power plants). There are 3 billion tons of coal ash in the U.S. sitting in toxic coal ash ponds in about 50 sites around the U.S. containing an estimated one trillion dollars worth of R.E.E.'s.  And no one until now has developed an economical and environmentally non-toxic, non-solvent method to extract them. R.E.E.'s are very expensive to mine and there are currently no active R.E.E. mines in the U.S.. Yet, they are essential for our high technology production. China has cornered the world market from their deep earth mined sources but have been choking off supplies to the West. However, coal ash doesn't have to be mined so the U.S. could corner the world market with less expensive R.E.E's. Rare Earth Elements from an easily accessible domestic supply  that doesn't have to be mined would be a game changer for U.S. technology production. Presently, R.E.E deep earth mining in locations like China or Greenland make our technology manufacturing unnecessarily expensive, but this will change.

Purpose of Initial Round of Financing: We have bench tested multiple samples of coal ash and know they contain many rare elements. Another step forward would be to travel to several coal ash ponds in diverse geographic locations to further test for variations in mineral types and yields. Finally, using a modified electric arc oven, separate the minerals using computer controlled temperature selection and identify and quantify the results. Initial estimates for gathering samples would be a 2 man crew supplied with a box van, generator and grind pump and obtaining about 2 gallons of ash slurry per site at a rate of about 2 or 3 sample locations per day, give or take the number of samples we decide to collect initially. This would provide additional evidence and assurance for our  investors of our commercial viability. If investors are confident to take the next step PRD Tech Inc. will create a scaled engineering plan and equipment specifications for full commercial construction. Ideally the plants should be close to the ash ponds in order to avoid transporting toxic waste over long distances. The power plants themselves could be approached for a negotiated partnership to lease land for a plant that could generate them a new source of additional revenue.

Additional Commercially Viable by-products: To accomplish R.E.E. extraction coal gasification takes place which can be converted to liquid natural gas which can be sold as fuel.  As well,
the Burned carbon can be commercially sold and used as a concrete fortifier so the final result is near zero waste from the entire process and two additional revenue streams.

A Second Venture Round would build a full scaled production plant. As PRD Tech Inc. will seek its return from a licensing fee the involvement of PRD Tech will primarily be designing and engineering new or modified technology for production improvements. A  positive  relation with a venture firm would be one that has been involved with public-private partnerships as
the current administration has made the acquisition of R.E.E.'s a primary objective for the D.O.E. and D.O.I.. However those relationships could form at the 2nd venture round.
