Problem: Experiments must run in minutes, not days, to accelerate science. 4.1M researchers lack tools to run experiments effectively, leading thousands of enterprises to rely on outdated hardware. Researchers also often lack access to user-friendly computing tools.

Solution: Validated by 50+ enterprises, national labs, and universities, Positron built an easy AI/ML service for scientific computing that makes researchers more productive. Our platform allows experiments to run with one click, without requiring advanced IT or coding skills. AI-driven job execution selects and scales infrastructure automatically, enabling faster and more efficient results. The platform also supports prepaid scientific funding models with built-in budget allocation and cost controls aligned with how researchers operate today.

Team: Positron’s team comprises former AWS leaders with 17 years of combined experience in building AI/ML services and directly addressing researcher challenges.

Current Status: Positron is working on a launch with the Massachusetts Open Cloud (MOC), a research computing collaboration between Boston University, the University of Massachusetts, and Harvard University. We have agreed to business terms and are preparing a contract to launch the partnership. MOC provides access to thousands of researchers and extensive scientific computing infrastructure, complementing ongoing work with other beta customers, such as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
