I am a recent 83-year-old widow, in the "Silent Generation" of 50 million people, who wants to start a Podcast, in my home, dedicated to my Generation becoming, "Silent No More". I am a person, very cognizant of the news, and what is going on in our country and the world, but frustrated because, "What can I really do, at my age?" That is how the idea came to me for this Podcast. I knew my Silent Generation had the same frustrations and thoughts, saying to themselves, "But what can we do?" Rather than me speaking all the time on the Podcast, there would be a constant interactive listener call-in dialogue on immediate problems, workable solutions and finalized actions, we could perform together, whether locally or nationally. This would be a new format for this audience. Currently, health issues are focused, on this group, from other Podcasters, but my concept and approach would be entirely new. I am exactly who I would be communicating with, a traditionalist, who is hard working and a cautious conformist with a hint of a rebellious side, to reform the system rather than tear it down. I am a healthy, energetic woman who goes to the gym five days a week and walks 30 minutes every day, for those concerned about my age. My credentials are my years of experience as a volunteer in fundraising millions of dollars for the schools, churches, hospitals and a university in my community; my years as a teacher in the elementary schools, an elected school board member who worked to become a director on the California School Boards Association, continued as a Governor's appointee to the California State Board of Education, elected by my bi-partisan members, to be the President of the Board, there-by moving to the national directorship on the National Association of State Boards of Education, in Washington D.C. Politically, I worked in local political groups for candidates, then moved, as a volunteer, to the state level and was appointed as a California delegate and leader to the Reagan Delegation in Detroit and Dallas. I feel very qualified for my own Podcast, but, unfortunately, being a widow, I require funds about $5000, for equipment and $2000 monthly home rent for a year, where I would have the equipment located.
