Facial Recognition pet door

I have created a facial recognition pet door. I need funding to manufacture and market my product.

I have plans to upgrade the product and create future products.  This door will only allow the pet(s) into the house the are recognized. Plans are in the works for stopping pets from exiting that you want to remain inside.

1. Title of the Invention:
Intelligent Pet Door System Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Facial Recognition

2. Field of the Invention:
This invention pertains to the field of animal management systems, more specifically to an electronically controlled pet door system that uses facial recognition technology.

3. Background of the Invention:
Traditional pet doors allow all animals of a certain size, not just the household pets, access to the home. This can lead to security issues, with wild animals and strays entering the premises, potentially causing harm or disturbance.

4. Summary of the Invention:
The proposed invention seeks to improve the functionality of pet doors by incorporating AIdriven facial recognition to accurately identify the household pets and only allow them access. This system comprises:
A camera mounted at the pet door that captures images of animals as they approach.
Facial recognition software that analyzes the features of the approaching animal to determine if it matches any stored profiles of authorized pets.
A door mechanism that unlocks or remains locked based on the recognition result.

An AI module that continuously learns from its interactions, improving accuracy over time by adapting to changes in the pet’s appearance.

5. Detailed Description of the Invention:
Hardware Setup: The device includes a high resolution camera and a secure locking mechanism integrated with a conventional flap or sliding pet door design.
Software Capabilities: Utilizing a robust AI model, the software processes realtime imagery to distinguish between known pets and unfamiliar animals. The system can handle variations in lighting and minor changes in the pet's appearance due to growth, grooming, or dirt.
Learning and Adaptation: The AI model is designed to update its data repository with each entry and exit, refining its understanding and recognition capabilities based on new data points. Security Features: In addition to controlling pet access, the system logs all activity and can alert homeowners via a connected app about potential security breaches or when unknown animals attempt to enter.

6. Claims:
Claim 1: A pet door system as described herein which employs facial recognition technology to selectively allow access to identified pets.
Claim 2: The method of updating and refining the recognition database based on continuous learning from daily pet movements.

7. Drawings/Photographs: Sketch of the finished product

8. Conclusion:
This invention not only enhances the utility of a pet door but also integrates it with modern technology to improve home security and animal management. The application of such advanced recognition technology in a residential setting showcases a novel use of AI to solve common household challenges.
