Hello! I am Amber Moon a local Michigander, Ganja Gal with so much love for our local yokels and the goods and wares they offer.  I have over a decade in management, working mainly in smoke shops and adult novelty shops all while raising five children. My experience has given me a vast knowledge of local goings on and a clear vision of what this area needs. I have advocated for legalization of cannabis since before medical was voted in. I have been interviewed by our local paper numerous times for my involvement in cannabis. People around here will look me up and ask me questions about all things cannabis. I walked into a newly opened recreational shop, when they put my name in the system the fella said, "You're Amber Moon, the Amber Moon that was in the paper and all-over social media advocating for cannabis!?!" I replied with "I AM Amber Moon!" He had a big ole smile on his face and said "Thank you, you are the reason we are in Big Rapids and are so grateful for all you have done for cannabis" I cried, right there in a local cannabis shop, I tear up typing out my story.  I have dear friends walking and thriving after they'd been given six months to live, customers who seek me out and hug me because their seizures are under control, mothers tell me how well their post-partum depression is, the little old man with one leg who is off the prescriptions that made him unbearably sick who simply thanks me for opening his mind to other options in healing. Story after beautiful story and it fills my heart, and I am called to do more. I have been employed at a local hotel for over four years and am the general manager. I began working in the hotel as a housekeeper after leaving my district management position within a growing corporate chain of smoke shops. During the pandemic shut down I decided I was going to work at the first recreational cannabis shop in Big Rapids and I did just that but quickly realized that I couldn't be for just one singular cannabis company. I AM for ALL cannabis. I came back to the hotel but was just done with management, done with being in the corporate world. But I am a manager, I am a leader and worked my way up, it is just who I am. Now my vision, my mission is a clear as it could be. A cannabis resort!!! The best of everything and absolutely none of the corporate BS. I am a down to earth, open minded, quick witted, outspoken women. I fumbled finding out where I belonged, I have given all I've got to my employers. I am just done giving more and more of myself to something I don't believe in.

There will be a shuttle to safely tool our 21 and up guests around to local dispensaries, get dropped for a tubing trip down the Muskegon River, check out some local restaurants or anything we can accommodate within reason. The vision is to showcase our locals, to continue normalizing cannabis, to just have a great time do good and give back. This resort is for all walks of cannabis enthusiast. From the "rustic reefer" to the "dignified dabber". We are here for everyone, well, anyone 21 and up!!! As an animal lover I will be part of helping the pet overpopulation and give them sanctuary. I carry a great respect for local cannabis caregivers and growers.  I love cannabis for all it does and want a place for folks to come and be part of something incredible. I worked, very briefly in corporate cannabis and I just couldn't get on board with well, corporate cannabis (BUT have been part of the legalization process since before medical was voted in). Not being able to work in the newly recreational cannabis industry caused heartache and I began to figure out how to be part of celebrating the new cannabis culture movement without compromising my own personal ethics. THIS IS IT!!! Come one come all, let's get high and have a ball!!!

The plan is to have a basic 30-40 mid-priced rooms around $150.00 a night, private cabins around $200.00 a night with seasonal camping $25-50.00 a night. These will be our steady influx of monies coming in. We will be growing our own food so there will have very little overhead.  We will locally source anything we cannot acquire onsite. Variety is the spice of life, and we will have just that.

April 2022
Over $27,000,000 in medical cannabis sales.
Over $167,000,000 in recreational sales. These are monthly totals throughout the state!!!
In April 2022 there were two Designated Consumption Facility license issued.
We have over 500 licensed retailors in Michigan
1.8 billion in revenue statewide in 2021 and nearly 1 billion in 2020.

Hotel revenue for Kent County in June of every year (Grand Rapids area, 45 minutes south of our building location)
2019 114.1 mil
2020 56.7 mil
2021 70.5 mil
2022 119.6 mil
Looking back before the pandemic, pandemic and after, we are looking perfect to open and blow up our local economy!!!

Michigan 2021 domestic travel market was 121.1 million people up 11.1% from 2020.
Expenditures for Michigan 2021 domestic travel was 13.5 million up 18% from 2020.
In 2021 26% (27% is the US norm) of domestic travelers stayed in a hotel or resort at least one night.

14 million of the total monies was spent in Northwest Michigan.  People are coming to the area and spending money, and I am certain Over the Moon R&R would assist in bringing in more revenue. The numbers are proof, the area could use a jump start.

Looking at cannabis revenue and just domestic travel revenue this is a win-win situation from every aspect. Michigan is a destination state for folks all over the world and even more so now that we are recreational.

Seeing what the "green" tax is doing for our small community is beautiful.  There is just no downside to this future cannabis staple within my community.
