Our Lady's Tears Productions is a movie/video production company; we collaborate in our productions with St-Jude Nutrition Medical Communications. Our group needs 5M to bring to the big screen the Tru Story of Cinderella. The script is based on the book: GERMAINE: Requiem of a Soul/The True Story of Cinderella. The book is available at this website: https://www.germainerequiemofasoul.com/product-page/germaine-requiem-of-a-soul-the-true-story-of-cinderella
This is the true documented story of the real 16th-century Cinderella. Germaine Cousin was a shepherdess who lived from 1579 to 1601. Born with a lame right hand and the disease scrofula (a non-tuberculous infection of the lymph nodes of the neck), she was reviled by the townfolk and ridiculed by the other children. The only child of Laurent Cousin and Marie Laroche, Germaine lived about 1.5 miles west of Toulouse, France. When she was just five years old, the plague suddenly took her dear mother, and her father soon after remarried. Germaine was physically and mentally abused by her new stepmother, Armande de Rajols, who had three daughters who also were terribly mean to Germaine. This poor little shepherdess is, however, not left completely defenseless, for wondrous mystical occurrences begin to surround her, but unlike the fable, the events are true.
Below, is an experimental clip or screen tests completed a few years ago to garner interest in the True Cinderella story
VIEW SCREEN TEST-1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMZtG1bhgzM&t=7sThis movie is filled with hope despite the rather dark moments of the stepmother's abuse. Here we see the angels coming to Germaine's assistance; the waters of the stream parting to let Germaine pass through to get to morning mass.. These events were witnessed by the townspeople, thereby causing them to turn against the stepmother, who up until then, had been accusing her stepdaughter of lying and stealing. This caused the stepmother to become even more enraged. The story has a sad but very touching ending.
The cinematographic richness of this story makes it a blockbuster. The story itself sets it apart from the mainstream storylines commonly produced in Hollywood. It is time to produce movies that are full of beauty and truth to inspire a world that has lost its way. Here below, I highlight the many aspects that make this investment attractive:
First, this is the true story of a Catholic saint whose relics are found in the Basilica of Pibrac, France, about 1 hour south of Toulouse. This is not a fable or a fantasy story that excites the imagination and then leaves you dry at the end. Although the Cinderella fable was inspired by this 16th-century saint, it pales in comparison to the true story this movie will recount. Cinematic wonders captured by this motion picture will astound audiences, especially Catholics but Protestants will have trouble resisting the beauty and the spirituality conveyed in this masterful storytelling.
AUDIENCE BASE: This is the epic religious/spiritual tale that any director worth his salt would do anything to get his hands on. The True Story of Cinderella is fundamentally a Catholic story that will draw primarily Catholics to the theater. There are currently 72 million Catholics in the US. Not all of them practice their faith. Recent PEW research estimates that about four in ten U.S. Catholics (39%) say they attend religious services at least once a week, and an additional 45% say they do so once or twice a month or a few times a year. Of the weekly churchgoers, about 10-20% are strong believers. OK, so let's crunch the numbers: A conservative estimate of the Catholic audience is 25% of weekly Churchgoers and 5% of monthly churchgoers: 7 million weekly church-attending Catholics and 1.62 million monthly churchgoers for a total conservative estimate of 8.62 million Catholics nationwide. Protestants will also be drawn, not so much by a Catholic saint, but by the curiosity of a true Cinderella. There are 140 million Protestants in the US, of which there could be between 5-10% curious and intrigued enough to see the movie; that is 7 to 14 million Protestant Christians.
In total then, the most conservative audience base for this film could total 15.62 million here in the US. Because this is a French Catholic saint, we can count on a solid traditional Catholic base in that country.
The marketing of this feature film is remarkably colorful and intriguing, mysterious and wondrous, and most definitely spiritually uplifting. This is what most audiences are unknowingly clamoring for without being able to put actual words to their hunger.
Is it possible to get investors to rally behind such a story? Absolutely if for no other reason than for the remarkable return on investment. I believe that promoting goodness and beauty in film is something investors would like to get behind and support as it is good for families wanting to raise their children to espouse faith, purity, goodness, faith, and love. This full 2hr 30 min film can be done with 5 M and some money leftover for Marketing. This is a reasonably modest budget to bring to the big screen a classic film that audiences can enjoy for years to come.
