What does the Company do:
Daedalus Space industries builds permanent orbital manufacturing facilities so companies may conduct product development and manufacturing in space for consumption back on Earth or at other off-planet facilities.
Gap in the Marketplace:
Currently, there are several companies developing launch vehicles for colonization of the Moon and Mars and a few with aspirations to launch small mini factories for limited construction of products in space to be returned from orbit.
As with Carnegie, J.P Morgan, Rockefeller, and Ford - Daedalus Space Industries will spearhead the next industrial revolution, not on Earth, but in orbital space.
This will take place in 3 phases to take advantage of vertical supply chain synergies: Phase 1: Launch vehicle development and operation, Phase 2: Manufacturing complex construction, and Phase 3: Long-term space mining
Daedalus will develop launch vehicles to get raw materials into orbit and return finished product back to Earth for consumption. In addition, we will construct large permanent manufacturing facilities with automated and semi-automated manufacturing processes (human assisted manufacturing) that can be expanded with the assistance of 3-D printers. This will facilitate the construction of a manufacturing complex that helps eliminate the need to fit the entire manufacturing process onto a single launch vehicle. Lastly, we will harness the ability to build larger space faring vehicles to begin space mining of asteroids over the long-term.
By building a permanent expandable manufacturing facility in orbit, Daedalus will become the landlord, thus allowing companies to reliably develop products and scale-up production resulting in significant cost reductions over time.
This will propagate large scale manufacturing of materials that can only be made in space (e.g. fiber optics, human organs, and metal alloys) without the space constraints.
