Financing Needed

We plan on receiving funding for initial costs and salaries for our kids' class coaches. We intend to invest 20% of our own capital into the business and seek to raise the remaining 80% through external sources of funding.

Problem:
Young adults and children require a platform that provides them with a distinctive channel for learning, mentorship, self-control, and enjoyment. In particular, they require a venue where they can develop confidence in a manner that is beneficial, engaging, and enduring. Mixed Martial Arts and fitness offer the opportunity to cultivate these abilities in an exceptional setting, which is currently lacking in the market.

Solution:
Olympolis Athletes is dedicated to providing a dynamic environment where individuals of all ages can achieve their personal goals. Our primary aim is to inspire and motivate students to establish life-changing daily routines, starting with physical fitness and embracing a holistic approach to wellness. In our state-of-the-art facility, we plan to offer a wide range of Martial Arts disciplines, including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Fitness programs, and MMA classes. Our classes cater to a diverse student base, spanning from young children to working professionals to enthusiastic grandparents seeking new experiences.

At Olympolis Athletes, we take pride in our team of world-class experts who are passionate about empowering individuals to embark on transformative journeys. Centrally located in the heart of Lansing, our partnership with the esteemed Human Performance Institute conveniently positions the gym just a short 10-12 minute drive from Michigan State University.

Market:
Olympolis Athletes is conveniently located just off Highway 496, strategically positioned within Lansing's community. Our partnership with the esteemed Human Performance Institute, which boasts a 12-year presence in the area, has allowed us to cultivate an exceptional environment. Our current clientele includes professional athletes, collegiate athletes, strength athletes, and hard-working parents balancing a 9-5 schedule. The prime location of our establishment enables us to tap into key demographics such as Michigan State University students, local families residing in small-town communities, and individuals seeking weekend entertainment near the university. Our extensive research indicates a potential customer base of over 7,800 individuals on a daily basis. Furthermore, the absence of a professional MMA gym within a 30-40 mile radius further enhances our competitive advantage. The continued growth in MMA gym memberships, averaging a yearly increase of 18.7% since 2012, underscores the need for a dedicated facility catering to the learning needs of children. In the United States alone, there were 39,110 martial arts businesses in operation during 2020, with a projected increase to 55,490 by the end of 2023. Based on historical data, children engaging in mixed martial arts typically remain active in the sport for an average of 2.6 years. Moreover, our target region has experienced population growth rates of 0.61% for Lansing, MI since 2022, and 0.75% for DeWitt, MI since 2020. These statistics underscore the tremendous opportunity we have to make a positive impact on this vibrant community.

 Competition:
We have a highly advantageous situation with our facility. Currently, we are operating out of Simmons Academy Of  Wrestling.  A simple Manufacuring building.  We are situated in the heart of Lansing. Within this well-established local gym we focus on children's wrestling and fitness. With adequate funding, we have the opportunity to operate a world-class facility that can have a significant impact on individuals of all ages. Our strategic partnership with the HPI brings in a professional clientele that has high expectations for quality. This collaboration enables us to offer an exceptional experience to our members. Setting us apart from other facilities within a 30-40 mile radius, we will provide exclusive MMA gym memberships, along with exceptional martial arts training and strength conditioning programs.

Why Us?:
At Olympolis Athletes, we stand out among other martial arts centers in the state of Michigan. What sets us apart is our exceptional staff, which consists of professionals who are actively competing in the highest level of MMA, as well as instructors with black belts in Taekwondo and brown belts in Jiu Jitsu. Our team also includes athletes and professors who have both competed and taught at the highest level.

But it doesn't stop there. We have partnered with world-class nutrition and personal training coaches from the renowned Human Performance Institute. This collaboration ensures that our members receive top-notch guidance and support in every aspect of their fitness journey.

Unlike our competitors, we believe that our quality far surpasses the price tag of a monthly membership. Our energetic and overqualified staff is genuinely passionate about teaching the sport they love, and their enthusiasm is contagious. We are dedicated to providing an unparalleled experience that goes beyond just learning martial arts – we are committed to helping our members reach their full potential and achieve their fitness goals.

Market Size and Segments:
Our target market for Olympolis Athletes is diverse, encompassing various groups of individuals who have unique exercise preferences and goals. These include urban professionals seeking convenient workout options during their lunch breaks, retired business people desiring both fitness and social opportunities, students from the nearby university, and children of all age groups.

To cater to these different segments, we will offer a range of programs. Our offerings will feature beginner martial arts classes and regular fitness classes for individuals seeking to learn new skills and engage in a hobby that promotes physical well-being. Additionally, we will provide specialized classes for children, with a focus on their long-term growth and development. These classes will be designed to make learning fun while instilling discipline. Lastly, we will offer programs specifically tailored to professional athletes and children whose parents are interested in dedicating themselves to the sport of MMA. Our high-level amateur and professional MMA classes will provide a platform for some of the world's finest athletes to train and refine their skills on a daily basis.

Our target attendance for martial arts classes is 10-20 children per class, while regular fitness classes will aim for 5-10 participants. We will maintain flexible schedules with multiple classes offered throughout the week. Pricing will be determined based on national averages and proficiency levels. Our objective is to reach a membership base of 80-125 individuals within the first year of operation.

Marketing Plan:
One aspect of the marketing strategy for Olympolis Athletes' Martial Arts Center will focus on targeting college and university students, particularly young adults. The objective is to attract a minimum of five new members each month through campus advertisements at Michigan State University, which boasts an enrollment of over 50,000 students. Another component of the marketing plan will center around engaging with high schools and local elementary students. The aim is to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for young children to learn martial arts. The strategy includes distributing flyers and organizing community events aimed at attracting new students and clients. These events will encompass back-to-school and holiday gatherings, with a specific focus on families and children. Furthermore, Olympolis Athletes plans to implement digital marketing campaigns aimed at adults. These campaigns will feature inspirational and goal-oriented advertisements, targeting individuals who are seeking to improve their basic physical fitness or learn basic self-defense. As a provider of a premium product, Olympolis Athletes firmly believes in the quality of its services speaking for itself. To entice new members, the center will offer promotional deals for the first month. Additionally, the programs at Olympolis Athletes are structured into tiers, wherein the cost and benefits increase as members progress in their training.

Sales Plan:
Sales for Olympolis Athletes' Martial Arts Center will be facilitated through an innovative business app and our user-friendly gym website. This cutting-edge approach empowers prospective students to effortlessly access comprehensive information about our exceptional programs and top-notch services.

Upon registration, we will efficiently collect the email address and phone number of new students to establish prompt and personalized contact. Within a remarkable 48 hours of their sign-up, our dedicated team will proactively reach out to them, either via phone or email, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. Through this dynamic communication, we will delve into their deep-seated interest in joining our esteemed center and find out "their why" goals. Next, we plan to diligently guide them through the process of selecting the most fitting program. Our unwavering focus lies in understanding their unique goals and aspirations, enabling us to curate an unparalleled journey that perfectly aligns with their individual needs.

To embody absolute flexibility, we have meticulously crafted a pricing structure that offers a plethora of payment options. Students will relish the freedom of choosing between a convenient monthly payment plan, a robust 6-month commitment, or a comprehensive yearly membership, empowering them to make a decision that best suits their lifestyle.

Location and Facility:
Our establishment is conveniently located adjacent to the freeway, making it easily accessible for our customers. It is approximately a 10-minute drive from the college campus, providing a strategic location that is slightly removed from the bustling city center. We are situated in the mixed area of Reo Town, which is known for its diverse range of businesses.

Our Martial Arts Center will work in tandem with the Hpi Facility and occupies a spacious area of approximately 5,500 square feet.

Technology:
As Olympolis Athletes is currently not operational, the establishment of our Point of Sale (POS) system is still pending. We intend to implement a simple and efficient solution utilizing iPads. The POS system will be strategically located at the entrance of the gym, ensuring visibility upon entry. It will serve as a check-in mechanism for both new signups and existing members. Existing members will be able to log in using their credentials, while new customers will have the option to sign up and receive a callback for program setup, along with a login QR code.

The iPad will facilitate payment acceptance and enable us to track member engagement effectively. While we have yet to finalize our choice of application for subscription and payment management, we are considering options such as QuickBooks or similar platforms for seamless bookkeeping and payroll processing.

For other operational aspects, we anticipate utilizing platforms like Gusto for efficient and streamlined payroll processing, MailChimp for sending email newsletters, as well as established social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram to connect with our customers and gather valuable feedback.

Equipment & Tools:
Olympolis Athletes Martial Arts Center will be equipped with a wide range of high-quality equipment and tools to ensure the best training experience for our athletes. Our inventory will include the following essential items:

  • Zebra Heavy Bag Trolley
  • Heavy bags
  • Zebra Wall Pads
  • Zebra Wall Pad Channel Kit
  • Zebra 2" Mats
  • Zebra Cage Panel Wall
  • MMA Pads and Mitts
  • Jiu Jitsu/Taekwondo Gi's and belts
  • Rashguard and MMA shorts
  • Floor and Mat Cleaner Kit
  • Gym Sign
These equipment and tools are not just purchases, but long-term investments that will contribute to the overall longevity and quality of our martial arts center.

To ensure that we have everything needed for a successful launch, we have allocated approximately $35,000 for the initial costs. This investment will cover the acquisition of all necessary equipment and tools, allowing us to provide a top-notch training environment for our athletes.

Key Assumptions:
Olympolis Athletes is expecting to be able to hold 4–7 classes per day. Each day, two classes will be dedicated to kids, 2-3 classes for pro and amateur MMA, and the last two classes will be personal fitness classes. We will offer 6 and 12-month programs. Our assumption is that parents will enroll their kids for life skills, not just for daycare. The main focus will always be on building the kids up, and this process takes time. We want to establish from day one that our priority is building strong relationships with the families.

During the first three months of operations, we expect a slower start, with 5-12 kids per day for the first month, followed by 15-30 kids daily for the next two months. By the fourth month, we should be operating at full capacity, with 15 kids per class.

Our plan is to have 10-15 customers per day enrolled in our beginner and basic programs. The average price for this service will be $150 per month. The price may vary based on the program the student is enrolled in and their individual needs.

Although retail sales will not be our primary focus, we anticipate generating $200-$400 in monthly sales starting from the fourth month.

Based on these assumptions, we project a gross revenue of $23,000 in year 1 and $67,000 in year 2.

Use of Funds:
The allocated funds will be used for the following purposes:

1. Covering the operating costs as the business expands. This includes expenses for full property camera security, clean seating areas, proper restrooms for both women and men, front-end infrastructure, and building signage. In addition, any necessary structural improvements will be addressed.

2. Acquiring and purchasing MMA equipment, such as an MMA cage, wall pads, wall mats, floor mats, punching bags, bag racks, and basic training equipment.

3. Providing salaries for the coaching staff for kids and the professional MMA class.

Source of Funds:
In order to bring Olympolis Athletes, our Martial Arts Center, to life, I, Charles Johnson,  am ready to contribute an initial investment of $20,000. This capital will serve as the foundation for our operations and growth. To further support the financial needs of our venture, we will also explore various sources of funds. One such avenue is seeking a potential partner who shares our vision and is willing to invest in our initial costs. By combining efforts and resources, we can propel Olympolis Athletes towards success and establish ourselves as a prominent player in the martial arts industry. With a strong financial base and strategic partnerships, we will be well-equipped to achieve our goals and provide exceptional training and opportunities for athletes in our community.
