NXT LVL Lounge will be a virtual reality lounge in downtown Orlando that provides recreational and professional services in a hybrid location-based entertainment and coworking space. Topgolf meets WeWork with VR and AR headsets is the vision.
"For that [metaverse] vision to be a success, it has to start with consumers getting on board with the idea that, actually, this technology does have broad applications [and] isn't something that is a niche luxury," NRG research director Fergus Navaratnam-Blair
For businesses, the lounge will offer a variety of enterprise headsets, such as the Pico Neo 3 and HoloLens, for local companies to trial without the need for significant upfront investment in equipment, training, and infrastructure. Here are some professional use cases:
- Architects can create virtual models of their designs.
- Engineers can render 3-d schematics of their work.
- Med school students can practice surgery simulations.
- Marketing teams can develop promotional material for Web 3.0.
- Financial firms can pioneer state-of-the-art data visualization tools
- Tech-Entrepreneurs can test metaverse products and content
These activities require significant resources to integrate into existing businesses' workflows. NXT LVL Lounge will serve as the first brick-and-mortar solution, providing the hardware, software, and space to experiment with varying new technologies under one roof. Clients can use the main lobby booths or book one of many private rooms to host up to 16 other users. Furthermore, to subsidize the cost of entry into XR development for solo entrepreneurs and the disenfranchised, we will scale pricing based on company size and create programs/partnerships with disadvantaged schools and social impact NGOs.
Business Monetization: A membership model with pricing based on the firm size and intended periodic use, starting at $99/month for each authorized user.
In regards to entertainment, the lounge will offer leisure-focused headsets such as the Oculus (Meta) Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro for patrons to partake in recreational activities such as:
- Golf & Mini-Golf
- Bowling
- Karaoke
- Axe-Throwing
- Party Games
- Archery
- Video Streaming
- Sight Seeing
- Racing
- Board games
In addition, a limited bar, open sectional design, and a trendy ultra-modern aesthetic will help create a social atmosphere that will appeal to social media marketing and drive a casual nightlife component. Instead of creating a venue centered around VR (such as VR arcades that cater to tech enthusiasts, gamers, & youth), we will create a space that showcases the value VR can add to normal life. We will host special events that emulate everyday IRL leisure activities, such as:
- Escape Rooms
- Movie Theaters
- Silent Concerts
- Paint and Sip Events
- Ghost Tours (and Regular Tours)
Entertainment Monetization: A time-based rental model will be the monetization, with groups reserving a booth in the main lobby for $60/hr (4 seats|1 VR boundary) or a private room for $200-500/hr (8-16 seats | 4-8 VR boundaries).
This model aims to blend new-age entertainment (i.e., Top Golf) with innovative coworking space (i.e., WeWork) while integrating the VR and AR devices to promote the mainstream adoption of the Metaverse. We are aiming to become a unique startup opportunity by establishing a scalable brick-and-mortar model that capitalizes on the timing, factoring in XR industry growth projections and the post pandemic climate. We will open Q1 2023 and have raised over $100,000 in initial funding since incorporating 4/21/22.
