I own and operate an auto transport (carrrier) company. The auto transport industry is still stuck in the 20th century, using outdated broker methods of connecting customers to carriers. The brokers are predominantly fraudulent, lying to customers about how the transport process works. They take their fee without even disclosing it most of the time. Carriers often get returning customers who contact the carrier directly. Easy quotes, honest and direct communication is when there is a customer working directly with a carrier. I have many clients this way, and they NEVER go back to brokers once they know a carrier. I want to transform the industry into the 21st century, eliminating the fraudulent middleman, eliminating an industry operating on deceit and half-truths. My goal is to create and web service (app and website) that would allow a normal person to contact a carrier directly based on the route they are looking for. A loadboard of customer posted vehicles, visible and accessible only to certified, verified and insured carriers. No brokers. No lies. A customer would submit their vehicle with all necessary details, and would have access to any and all registered carriers along the route. The carriers, in turn, would be able to see the customers’ car, and the communication lines would be mutually open, allowing them to connect and negotiate directly. The web service/app would charge a reasonable fee per shipment to the customer, and a monthly fee to carriers. A dispatch service would be provided to carriers who are limited in language skills. The carriers would pay an additional fee to have access to dispatch. Brokers or any operators without trucks would not be allowed to use or operate on the site. This will in turn take millions of dollars spent on broker fees, and turn them into this service, being more favorable for both customers and carriers. It would create the Uber or the Amazon of the auto transport industry.
