North Corner Studios

We are a group based fitness studio in Everett, WA. Our focus is to build self confidence and self worth through physical fitness, proper nutrition, and a strong community of support.  

When I first founded the company in 2017, I was solely focused on building income through having a large member base.  However, over time, I learned that within the boutique fitness business model, an average customer base is usually between about 100-200 members, as opposed to what I was used to managing, a world recognized brand studio, Orangetheory Fitness, which had 700-800 members.  Over the past few years of working within my own studio, I've noticed that this big brand process that I was used to  was not working in a smaller niche market that I had entered into, without having the marketing budget that a brand like ours has.  On top of struggling with marketing, with covid closures in 2020 and government regulations, we have struggled to rebuild our member base and have had to cut our staffing due to our decrease in income. 

I am requesting funding to rebrand our studio and rebuild a team to once again provide the highest level of service for our customers.  Right before Covid hit, I had a staff of 9 people and now I am down to 2 of us taking care of all the duties that a team of 9 once was.  My newest trainer I have brought into the business is very excited and driven to re-energize the studio and I'd like to put her in a full time position of operations manager so that I can turn my focus more so on the growth of the gym in both sales and staffing.  I'd like to rebrand our studio to encompass the niche market we are working within.  Women ages 30-50 years old, average income $70k+, and want a good workout and feel good about themselves when they look in the mirror.  I want to raise our current prices and provide more value for our members with personal training and nutrition coaching.  I'd like to leave our current location that is 6000 square feet with a storefront and move to more of a warehouse space that is 2000-3000 square feet.  My goal is to cut down on my overhead in rent and put more money towards staffing and member events.  I want to boost marketing to continue building our member base and then have some extra cash flow to work on bonus events, supplements, and retail. 

We've been in business for 4 years and have a product that has the potential to thrive.  Our members love what we offer and are asking for more, but I can't do it all by myself.  I need to rebuild a team and get some processes going again like we once had.  I love this studio and love what I do, I just need to restructure from within so that I can provide an even higher level of service for those that are a part of North Corner Studios.  I need a team to handle the every day processes, coach more classes, clean, and organize and run events.
