Our aerial application (crop dusting) business specializes in precision crop spraying and fertilization using advanced application technology, ensuring efficient and environmentally-friendly treatments for farmers. By leveraging cutting-edge aerial solutions, we enhance agricultural productivity while minimizing chemical use and operational costs, making farming more sustainable and profitable. From 2020 Nor-Wes, Inc experienced rapid growth from $750,000 to over $5,000,000 in gross sales within just three years, but this aggressive expansion led to operational strain and financial challenges, as I focused on growth rather than sustainable scaling. Through this journey, I learned critical lessons about the importance of building scalable processes rather than merely increasing revenue, and now, after strategically downsizing and divesting non-essential assets, the business is positioned to restart on a more sustainable path. Armed with a new blueprint for success, I will implement improved operational systems that not only enhance efficiency but are also designed to be duplicated in anticipation of future scaling opportunities when the time is right. With a capital injection, I am confident we can leverage these insights to stabilize and scale Nor-Wes, Inc responsibly and effectively.
Agricultural aircraft are known for their durability and specialized functions, allowing them to hold or even increase in value over time, particularly as the demand for efficient crop management and precision agriculture rises. Furthermore, the prices of parts and new aircraft have consistently increased due to advancements in technology, regulatory requirements, and the growing need for agricultural efficiency, making these assets not only reliable but also appreciating investments. With a capital injection, we can expand our service offerings—such as enhanced crop monitoring, custom ground and drone application services, chemical and seed sales, and precision agriculture consulting—without incurring significant overhead costs. This strategic diversification will create multiple revenue streams, allowing us to maximize the utilization of our existing resources and aircraft, thereby driving growth while maintaining a lean operational model.
Long story short is that I overextended myself and was more concerned with "growth" instead of perfecting our systems to make our business scalable. Since experiencing these hardships in 2022, I have devoted a significant amount of time into self learning in all areas of my business, specifically the financial side by reading books, listing to podcasts, reading articles, attending workshops, and trying to ask question from potential mentors. This business can be very successful if I am able to get back on track and regularly will net $600,000 per year plus. The biggest lesson I have learned through my experience is that working with investors is one of the best ways to scale a business and turn this long term vision into a reality. I look forward to sharing that vision with you!
