Nickel & Quarters Store is a syndicate of Community Retail stores where people can buy or invest in luxury, community, and thrift items in exchange for community service, crypto, and community funding.
Nickel & Quarters adopts a hybrid business model that encompasses several industries including:
- Health
- Education
- Arts
- Real Estate
- Tech
- Finance
In the 21st century, we are seeing more disruptions in the tech and finance sector. Nickel and Quarters Store seeks to be a positive disruptor by being first and foremost community-focused, not only providing the spaces and finance for communities to thrive, but to advocate, educate and build these spaces in historically marginalized neighborhoods.
There are a few things that makes this business model attractive. One that should stand out is the ability to receive or give payments though community service WITHOUT sacrificing one's own source of income. The second is that this is a step above a thrift store, as Nickel Quarters provide & recommend further education/mentorship in various fields within its stores. The third thing is that Nickel & Quarters operates has its own community stock exchange. This stock exchange is not related to the S&P 500 or the DOW. This stock exchange is a mini-stock exchange limited to the stores within a state, city, or neighborhood. It can be accessed in-person, or through an app.
Using the mutual benefit model, money is not the driving motivator of conducting business. It is community focused which can be synonymous with saying we adopt an equitable business model valuing collaboration instead of competition. We value diversity as opposed to monogenous representation and celebrate differences while acknowledging similarities between individuals, small businesses, and larger corporations.
We consider the total health of the community which includes mental, emotional, physical, financial, and environmental aspects of the neighborhoods we do business in. In fact, the value of community stocks people can invest in only go up if these metrics are being met across all those living in community.
Nickel & Quarters store can be looked at as a community franchise, but it works better when different names are used across different communities. Names that work in urban settings may not work in rural or suburban settings. The more people do business with each Nickel & Quarters store, the more they can collectively vote on its name change to support community autonomy. This has to be spelled out through the companies' legal restrictions.
This company is still in ideation phase. Nickel & Quarters doesn't have a team of co-founders, partners, and there are little credentials to getting this started. This funding request is for a particular investor: one who shares the same values as this company and have connections with retail, health, or tech professionals.
