I have two businesses that work together here in East Tennessee. One is called Nature's Wild Roots. NWR is a buyer of forest botanicals. Or what is called Non-Timber Forest Products. NWR's sister business is called One Farmer Organic Farms. One Farmer is a beginning Forest Farm. One Farmer also has eCommerce platforms that sell online. I've designed the businesses to supplement each other.
Nature's Wild Roots is a typical mid-level buyer with quantity always in mind. The roots and other products that are listed on One Farmers eCommerce platform come from what Nature's Wild Roots buys. NWR also sells roots for planting stock to customers who are interested in being a forest farmer. The roots that Nature's Wild Roots buys will eventually be the rootstock for One Farmer Organic Farms. I am currently looking for forested land to buy to start the farm. I have been in contact with my organic certifier, Oregon Tilth every step of the way.
The medicinal herb business is in the billions in revenue. I am looking to raise capital to have more buying power. To clarify I buy and flip that product to my bigger buyer every ten days. It's best to be able to hold everything bought till the end of the season. I am also a licensed American Ginseng buyer here in Tennessee. That short season of buying Ginseng is all about capital. A buyer that would like to be competitive with the top couple of buyers that I know. One would need close to $400,000.
I look forward to having the opportunity to sit and share by plans.
