My buddy 1ov3 (MB1) to the rescue!

This is no time for cowardice and selfishness to be in charge with more and more veterans struggling with mental health issues daily. Instead, we need leaders and organizers that are not afraid to step up and step out on social issues that matter. This is why MB1 has decided to step to the front line with our mobile app to protect and defend those that have defended our country. To build a system that our veterans can depend on when they are going through dark times. Giving them a communication system of other veterans that have been through the same thing they've been through. We are choosing to stand up for our veterans and say enough is enough when it comes to veteran suicides and mental breakdowns. 

Danger alert:

The new danger is no longer in our streets or lurking outside our homes. Instead, it is all in our heads. Our minds are creating dastardly thoughts and forcing us into mental breakdowns that are affecting everyone around us. Mental health issues are growing around the world at an alarming pace, but severely in our veteran communities.  We as a society are failing these people that deal with these issues every day. Society much rather judge our veterans than figure out a way to help. Society rather all the heavy lifting be left for the professionals to do and just go about their own business. Some families even go as far as to exile members of their family because of their mental sanity. how is this not disturbing?

Are we really ok with this as a society? Are we really going to just stand by and let mental health take control of our society? Leaving everyone in a constant state of distress and depression? Is this really the world we want our kids to grow up in? One where people can lose the battle in their minds, have no one to speak with, be left to the last resort? Which is suicide, homicides, homelessness, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and the list continues to grow. Is this the future we really want?

Taking the fight to mental health!

Well, here at My Buddy 1OV3, we refuse to see this future come to fruition for our veteran community. Our mission is to build a Buddy system that is so impenetrable and reliable that all of our heroes in the world have a Buddy at any time of the day. Taking the fight to the enemy, instead of leaving it to others.

Our Business motto is to eradicate veteran suicides with the use of a strong buddy system. Being a non for profit, 501c, company gives us a lot of freedom to make an impact in our veteran communities by connecting vets to other vets. Rather it's from social events that we plan on hosting: Buddy meet-ups, Buddy marches, Buddy concerts, open mic night, etc. Our focus is to make sure that no matter when or where each vet has a buddy in their corner.  In order to be successful in our goals, we have to rely on our MB1 app to reach more veterans. My buddy 1ov3 mobile app is where anyone that is on the verge of having a breakdown or feeling lonely can have a buddy at their fingertips with the click of a button. No more dealing with issues on your own. No more being afraid to call others, only for them to give you the cold shoulder. No more worrying about if you open up to someone that will use it against you later.

Instead, with the MB1 app, you get someone that doesn't know you specifically but genuinely cares. Someone that will hear you out and have empathy. A fellow veteran that in a lot of cases has been through what you've been through. Seen the things you have seen. Felt the pain and misunderstandings that you are feeling. Someone that will truly and genuinely have your back as a buddy. No strings attached.

My granny use to always tell me that a lost craft was the art of listening. Thank the lord I was listening!  She was right. In a lot of cases when we are at our lowest we just need someone that will listen to us as we let it out. Someone that will confirm to us that we're human and we go through dark times. That we have others in this world that not only care but want to see us be great! This is the system we're building at My Buddy 1OV3!

Our team:

We are composed of 3 Air Force veterans that all met in Ellsworth, South Dakota. One of the higher-ranked bases for mental health breakdowns in the military, ironically. MB1 was born from the mental health battles our president, Cory Richardson went through himself. He was struggling with so many issues while at Sd and a lot of times felt he never had an out to speak with about what was going on in his mind. He realized that it wasn't as easy as people say it was to speak to mental health professionals. That a lot of the times he rather just speak to a fellow veteran or a  random stranger. After serving a 6-year bid in the Air Force he finally realized what his purpose in life was. That he didn't want any other veteran to go through those dark times that he went through. So he assembled a team to take on this crisis in our community. This team together spoke, and came to the conclusion that in most cases having another veteran to speak with made all the difference in the world. This being that with other veterans they don't make you feel like a burden to them. You never feel as though they will hold what you said against you.  You know at the end of the day they have your 6 and that's the bottom line.

Year 1:
As military veterans, this is where our main focus will be starting out. We want to first build a secure buddy network for other veterans to alleviate suicide cases in that realm. We will be building all of our foundational blocks here when it comes to understanding the importance of the Buddy system.  This will also give us time to learn before moving into other areas to help more people. That's right we plan on building an entire buddy ecosystem.

Year 3:

For year 3 we plan on introducing 2 new apps, one being for kids and the other being for parents. Adolescents are struggling with a lot more mental drama than we could have ever imagined growing up today. From the constant bullying, social media trends, etc. Not to mention the parents who struggle to keep everything together in a world that is constantly changing to make being a parent even more difficult. Divorces, school outages, rising healthcare, and food prices, the list just keeps going. Both of these demographics need someone to speak with too. 

 5-year:
 
The goal is to have at least 3 more versions of the app out with different styles of buddies to speak with. From, grandparent buddies, LGBTQ buddies, mother buddies, etc. We all have our own vices and niches in this world and that is what makes us great. So wouldn't it be great to be able to speak to people struggling with the same issues we are struggling with? Instead of speaking to another person that has no idea what you're feeling or what you're talking about.

10 year:
Our goal is to also get more media pushed through My Buddy 1OV3 on mental health awareness. Eventually, a television show that makes families and friends feel good about talking to someone about their mental health issues. Makes families feel confident in dealing with a family member who is struggling with their mental health. Making kids realize why bullies do the things that they do and how other kids are dealing with it.  We plan on creating an entire MB1 family that shows and fits everyone in it. Because it takes love to change the world and love is all-inclusive.

Funding request:

As you can see our team at MB1 is very passionate about this mission. Yet, we do live in a world where funding is a major part of reaching enough people to make a change. This is why we come asking for the $200K funding to get us up and going in the right direction. We will be using these funds to host more events around the country. To improve the features and security of the mobile apps. Putting together more fundraisers to raise awareness not only for our organization but others trying to make a change too. We will use funds to put together a better marketing campaign as well. We would also like to hire and bring in more professional minds on the subject matters to make sure we're doing our best work and not wasting time. Then lastly, we have to make sure our staff and buddies look good when connecting with others, so attire is a must. We aim to be the change we want to see in the world!

We hope our message is concise when asking for help. We really are a company based with great people with great hearts. Our president loves to say, Everything we do is from the heart and he means it. We want to really put of best foot forward and make a change in the world. We hope you all are ready to make a change as well, not only for you but for our future seeds!
