Minerva Medical Simulation

Raising 500k to scale our leading medical simulation platform

Minerva Medical Simulation is dedicated to improving patient outcomes by making it dramatically easier for medical providers to practice the cognitive side of clinical care.   Last year we cleared a half million in revenue with an overall CAGR of 250% in four years.

Medical providers often gain expertise primarily through caring for real patients.  Providers must be prepared to correctly identify and treat hundreds of possible diagnoses, yet there exists no convenient way to safely practice the myriad of possibilities.  Medical simulation is a great answer but has traditionally meant in-person role-playing around an expensive medical mannikin.  This approach is infrequent and does not scale.

To solve this we've built Full Code, an app & web-based medical simulation.  Today Full Code is the #1 "medical simulation" on the Apple & Google app stores with over 3 million scenarios completed.  By simulating realistic medical care in software, we are able to make practicing medicine a daily activity for our customers.  Educators can assign simulations to their leaners, then gain insight on individual strengths & weaknesses.

Currently we have 5300 individual recurring subscribers with an ASP of $6.03/mo and 23 institutions with an average deal size of $8700/yr.  Our institutional customers are largely medical schools & PA programs with a few hospitals.  Some names include National University Hospital in Singapore, Tufts University, Thomas Jefferson University, University of Miami, Rosalind Franklin University, etc.

We are led by Michael McLinn and James (Kimo) Takayesu MD with a core team of 8 employees and contractors.  Michael has over 20 years of experience building software products, with most of that time spent in the medical industry.  Michael led development of the first mobile app at both American Well and CareCloud. Kimo has over 20 years experience as an attending physician in emergency medicine at Mass. General.  He is the department simulation officer and was assistant director of the EM residency.  Kimo current works 2/3 at MGH and 1/3 at Minerva.
