I'm a country music singer-songwriter from Effingham Illinois. I have spent my life touring, playing my songs around the world to whoever will listen. I've performed in 14 different countries and nearly every state in the Union. Now, I'm looking for a partner in the next phase of my career. Taking cues from country rappers Adam Calhoun and Ryan Upchurch, I'm turning my business into a business that doesn't depend on my touring. I'm focusing on three aspects:
1. Apparel - Transition my band brand into Bonfire Living , an outdoor clothing and tool brand.
1st Phase: Tee shirts about outdoor living, hunting, hiking, camping, and humorous quotes. Expand into hats, stocking caps, hoodies, and accessories.
2nd Phase: Leather goods, such as branded wallets, phone cases, wristbands, leather patched hats/caps, and pocketknife/multi-tool holders
3rd Phase: Hunting and Fishing gear and collared shirts
4th Phase: Branded coolers, tents, lanterns, lighters, bug zappers, etc...
2. Event Space - Live Music
1st Phase - I want to convert a portion of my warehouse space into a live music venue where singer/songwriters touring can stop and have a show midweek in route to their city gig. Effingham IL, where I'm located, is a crossroads for two major interstates, 57 and 70. We are spitting distance from St. Louis, Indianapolis, Chicago, Memphis, and Nashville. Big and small acts stop all the time to spend the night on tour.
2nd Phase - Once the venue is operational for nine months, we in Illinois are allowed to install gambling machines. Venues of my desired size (Under 100) are netting 8 - 10K per month.
3rd Phase - Experiences. I have in mind several different festivals and events throughout the year. These can be very lucrative if a group has a dedicated audience.
3. Content - Music, Podcasting, and Books.
1 - Music: I'm going to continue to write, record, and release new music, as this is my primary income stream at the moment.
2 - Podcast: I want to start releasing a weekly podcast called, Bonfire Living, which will focus on country music, outdoor living, and travel
3 - Books: I am writing my first cookbook called, Bonfire Living. I want to release a series of books with lyrics, recipes, cocktail recipes, and stories, much in a similar vein as Willie Nelson's or Jimmy Buffet's books.
My current business model is selling merchandise, events, and experiences. I have a property where my operation is located. The property is located at 1909 South Banker Street in Effingham IL 62401. There are 2 buildings on this property. The East Building is 15,000 sq ft and houses 4 different businesses producing rent. The West Building is 3,600 sq ft and houses 2 suites, one of which is where I have my business. I want to renovate the West building , turning my space into a small live music venue. There will still be room for apparel production. The capital invested will be used to renovate the West Building. This property is currently appraised at $850,000.00. I believe that after the renovations, the property will appraise between $1,000,000.00 - $1,200,000.00.
I am looking for a limited partner who would be interested in helping me build this business. In exchange for $100,000.00, I'm offering 30% of all profit generated from all three streams of income. I am generating between 10 and 20K per month with my music. My immediate goal is to get all three streams up to that level.
That's it in a nutshell. If this sounds interesting and you'd like to see more numbers and discuss details, please let me know.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
