Problem
The main problems are lack of drivers and warehouses. The transportation industry is a $791 Billion dollar industry. In the state of Virginia there's 80,000 shortage of drivers according to the American Trucking Association. As for warehousing in the United States, there's $29.2 Billion dollar market size according to the trading and economic report.
Solution
The answer is to combine the warehousing and trucking into one functioning unit. Modeling after the UPS and FedEx structure truck terminal/warehousing with a shop and maintenance crew. As combined operation it allows the company to bypass brokers which aligns the company directly to the shippers which in turn enables this model to accommodate shippers for warehousing and endless freight for the transportation portion. It also provides the profitability to pay drivers from $85k to $100k per year, that in many cases doubles a driver's earning capacity.
