In 2016, after retiring in 2014, I decided to sell my breads to the public. There was a small store nearby where they sold my cakes with the understanding that I could use their kitchen. I can only sell there since I have to use their address on my labels. New York required that. I am not allowed by the government to bake at home because of the fruit and vegetables that I use. As time went by I started baking different flavors and varieties. I have a website that shows the different kinds. It is mamafayskitchen.com. I bake Banana, Carrots, Lemon, Orange, Zucchini, Zucchini/Carrot, Bread Pudding as well as many other flavors. With each flavor I have variations. For example, I have a Banana, plain, with nuts and with chocolate chips. Carrots, I have plain, nuts, raisins, nuts & raisins. The list is extensive. I also plan to include gluten-free breads eventually.
The reaction to my cakes has been quite positive. I live in Manhattan and people from the outer boroughs have made special trips just to buy them. I have been told more than once that no place in Manhattan sells my variety. Many have asked me not to stop baking. Because of my variety, I firmly believe my products would be a success. They are also freezable, which is a plus. My breads could also be a success in the frozen food market.
I firmly believe that if I had a storefront, Mama Fay's Kitchen, with a small seating area, would be a great success. The Kitchen would not only bake specialty breads of all kinds, but it would offer different coffees, juices, other desserts, sandwiches, fresh fruit. The breads could also be sold to food markets, etc. in large orders. Music from musicians who would be able to showcase their acts would be welcomed. The creating of an unusual place would attract a wide variety of people. It would also give the opportunity to those in need of work who would be hired. With a skilled and willing staff to help with production as well as expert advertising, this place would be fantastic.
I am looking for someone who would see the potential of this and help me move forward to achieve this dream. Someone to take a chance on helping me develop this dream and also give work to people with the desire to work. There is a lot of potential in my products, especially since the variety cannot be found anywhere in Manhattan.
I enjoy baking. It is also quite therapeutic. There is a deep sense of satisfaction when my customers tell me how wonderful they are. (smile)
Thank you.
Most Sincerely,
Fay Brugger
