We now average $40k a month. We are a Five Star rated restaurant on Google, Yelp and Happy Cow. We take pride in our From Scratch, Locally Sourced menu. We curate our plant-based proteins from small craft houses and "up-and-coming" innovators. Using our Square diagnostics, we know that we serve 40% new customers weekly. We are growing and foresee great possibilities. We are one of only two vegan restaurants in Sonoma County, Ca and our regular customer base expresses loyalty and gratitude. Magdelena’s was voted among the Top New Restaurants in Sonoma County, Ca by Sonoma Magazine
The demand for vegan cuisine has increased substantially over the past ten years. More people have become concerned about their health and the impact that their food choices have on the environment. Nearly 9.8 million Americans consider themselves to be strict vegans. 1 in 3 Americans are eating plant-based meals more than 1 time per week. The Plant-Based market is one based on a holistic view of the planet. This view should include pay equity. In the US, Plant-Based market was valued at 7.4 billion in 2021 and it is continuing to grow. Magdelena's Savories and Sweets is working to create an integrated model that is both profitable and collective. From an environmental standpoint, we know the future of food will be framed from a plant-based perspective. That environmental viewpoint must include income security. We know that these things must be linked for the healthy future of our planet.
Magdelena's Savories and Sweets pays above average wages. We are committed to pay equity. When Magdelena's becomes profitable, we plan to pay a quarterly dividend to our long-term employees. We feel that the service industry IS a career for many people and that a good, healthy business model includes a well-paid staff. A happy staff, devoid of financial insecurity, may cost more in the beginning but offers greater financial gain in the long term. If an employee has some "skin in the game" s/he/they tend to perform at a higher level. S/He/They commit to and exemplify the quality of the product.
