Little Soldiers

Raising $500 Thousand dollars to start a non-profit organization to reduce the statistic of 22 Veterans losing their lives everyday to the war within.

A nonprofit organization similar to the Big Brother/Little Brother organization for Veterans to connect with younger Americans interested in spending their time listening and learning from the 6 percent of Americans who served, supported, and made it possible to keep America Great.

One of the biggest problems with our national heroes is that our military teaches them how to go to war but does NOT teach them how to come home. So, upon their return, they spend their days in a cycle of being viciously tormented by the memories in their minds.

However, in my experience, I have found that giving these heroes a listening ear to talk out their acts of bravery and a way to release their built-up emotions has made their minds not only free of their hardships but has made them open their eyes to the fact that their stories are worth being told over and over and not just left on repeat in their minds till they can no longer deal with them and let the acts of bravery they should be rejoicing in drive them into an early grave.

My goal is to initially target the high school students in JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) as they are already interested in military and war to volunteer in my organization, they also must do a volunteer project as part of the curriculum. As well as college ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps), and the recruiting DEP (delayed entry program).

I would also like to get the Veterans at the VFWs to volunteer their time to sit with these young Americans and let them see how we have not forgotten our national heroes. I would also like to get in touch with the regional Veteran affairs offices to have them advertise our organization to newly discharged troops.

Considering this is a big goal and a very important mission and it is improbable to find any American who does not know or has ever known a troop I would like to open the program to all Americans to volunteer through a website and an app.

I would hope to eventually make it Nationwide and have billboards and commercials running with slogans such as "They saved us, now it is our turn to save them." "22 a day, is 22 too many"

With the current recruitment status, the way it is currently, I would also hope that building the morale around the military would raise enlistment and eventually I would be able to get funded by the VA or DOD.
