Reshoring American Battery Manufacturing — Tampa Bay, Florida

The Lithium Battery Company (LBC) is a Tampa-based, U.S.-domiciled manufacturer of custom, high-performance lithium-ion battery packs for some of the world's most demanding applications. Founded in 2014 by Nathan Staron, LBC was built on a simple but powerful premise: American companies, defense contractors, OEMs, and government agencies deserve a domestic battery manufacturer they can trust — one that delivers the precision, accountability, and supply chain security that overseas commodity suppliers simply cannot.
We do not sell off-the-shelf batteries. We solve complex energy storage problems.

What We Build

LBC designs and manufactures custom lithium-ion battery packs across virtually every format and application under one roof. Our three fully automated production lines — large prismatic, large cylindrical, and small cylindrical — give us the flexibility to serve a uniquely broad range of customers and use cases:
•Container Energy Storage Systems (ESS) for grid-scale and commercial energy storage
•Residential and Commercial ESS for distributed energy and backup power
•EV Battery Modules for electric vehicles and specialty transportation
•Large and Small Battery Modules for industrial, defense, and government applications
•Portable Power Stations and consumer electronics battery packs
•Military and Mission-Critical Power Packs built to the most demanding specifications
Each production line is 100% fully automated and capable of assembling 250 to 330+ battery packs per day. Our six-axis robotic welding systems deliver the consistency and precision that high-stakes customers require. We also operate two rapid prototyping lines, allowing us to develop and validate custom battery designs quickly before scaling to full production.

Our Facility

LBC operates from an 84,000 sq ft facility in Tampa Bay, Florida, which holds Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) designation — a significant regulatory advantage that reduces import duty exposure and streamlines international supply chain operations. The facility is fully built out and ready for production activation, with infrastructure designed to support multiple simultaneous production lines and future capacity expansion through equipment duplication and additional assembly line integration.
The FTZ designation, combined with our NDAA Section 4872 compliance, creates a regulatory moat that foreign competitors simply cannot replicate. Department of Defense mandates for domestic battery sourcing create a captive, recurring demand channel that positions LBC as a critical national asset.

Business Model

LBC operates as a custom contract manufacturer serving OEMs, defense primes, federal agencies, and commercial energy storage companies. Our revenue model is built on long-term supply agreements and repeat production orders rather than one-time transactions, creating predictable, recurring revenue streams.
Clients come to LBC because their applications demand more than a commodity battery can deliver. Whether the requirement is a specific cell chemistry, a proprietary pack architecture, mission-critical reliability, or simply a battery that is manufactured and documented entirely within the United States, LBC is the answer. Our ability to manufacture virtually any battery format under one roof — from a small consumer electronics cell to a full container ESS — means we can grow with our customers as their needs evolve.
Our domestic content model also positions LBC's customers to qualify for Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credits under the Inflation Reduction Act, providing meaningful financial incentives for partners who source through us rather than overseas.

Customers & Pipeline

LBC operates at the intersection of two of the fastest-growing sectors in the global economy: defense and clean energy. Our validated customer pipeline includes signed Letters of Intent and active project engagements with organizations, including:
• — Defense, Large Prismatic Pack (LOI Signed)
• — Federal/Law Enforcement, Cylindrical Pack (Active Order)
• — Commercial, Multi-format (LOI Signed)
• — Defense, Large Prismatic Pack (LOI Signed)
• — Energy Storage, Large Prismatic Pack (Unit Testing)
• — Defense, Cylindrical Pack (Active Discussion)
In addition to these anchor relationships, LBC has been trusted by and worked with organizations including NASA, SpaceX, Google, General Dynamics Land Systems, the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, the Department of Justice, and NCIS — a track record that speaks to the caliber of performance and accountability our customers expect and receive.

The Team

Nathan Staron, Founder and CEO, has spent over a decade building deep expertise in lithium cell chemistry, battery pack architecture, and automated manufacturing systems. His experience spans hands-on time visiting and evaluating overseas lithium cell factories, working directly with the world's most demanding customers, and building the operational and technical foundation of LBC from the ground up. Nathan's decision in late 2024 to pivot LBC's strategy toward full domestic reshoring — anticipating the shift in U.S. trade and manufacturing policy — reflects both his technical foresight and his commitment to American industry.
LBC's advisory capacity is supported by Acropolis Holdings Group, whose tagline — Ensuring a Secure Tomorrow — mirrors LBC's own mission of securing America's energy supply chain.

Credentials & Compliance

LBC holds the following registrations and designations, making it fully qualified to serve government and defense customers:
Credential | Detail
CAGE Code | 73P65
Unique Entity ID (SAM.gov) | KTAYRM6TT754
DUNS Number | 079348695
Foreign Trade Zone | Designated & Activation in Progress
NDAA Section 4872 | Compliant
SBA 7(a) International Trade Loan | Active

Why LBC, Why Now

The United States has spent decades offshoring battery manufacturing to China. Today, that dependence is a national security vulnerability, a supply chain liability, and an economic drain. LBC was built specifically to change that — to give American companies, defense contractors, and government agencies a domestic alternative that doesn't require compromising on quality, security, or accountability.
With $8M in hard manufacturing assets, a $140M+ validated customer pipeline, FTZ designation, NDAA compliance, and three fully automated production lines ready to activate, LBC is not a startup with a concept. It is a fully built American manufacturer waiting to be turned on.
The facility is ready. The equipment is at the port. America needs to decide: build it here, or watch it leave.
