We are NDIS plan managers and accountants looking to expand an App that we are developing for participants to ensure continuity of supports that will integrate their planned requirements in emergency situations by way of a Person Centred Emergency Plan (PCEP).
Since the Black Summer Fires and the 2022 floods, the Government there has been much talk by all stakeholders relating to poor outcomes for people with disabilities and older Australians living at home and having to deal with large scale emergency situations. Since these events, there has been collaboration between emergency services, government departments, universities and disability advocates and a rollout of the PCEP commenced with PCEP facilitator training course run by University of Sydney. The course was developed in collaboration with disability advocates and aims to train interested participants in facilitation of how to prepare a PCEP in an endeavour to ensure better outcomes in large scale emergencies, particularly for aged participants living at home or disabled participants that may require further assistance. Lifebox has PCEP facilitators that have completed the training and we have developed an App that has merged the structure of a PCEP with a program to work directly with Support Coordinators and their participants over two meetings to prepare a comprehensive and relevant individual plan that is digital, shareable, and regularly updated to stay compliant under NDIA Guidelines that fits within the NDIS Price Guide for Assisted Technology Subscriptions and renewed annually.
Over the last 8 months we have been networking at Disability and Ageing events are there is great interest to roll out the program in conjunction with Support Coordinators and Occupational Therapists. These professionals visit clients to assess their needs at the start of their programs and this is the time to ensure that continuity of supply can be built into future plans.
