We are here to serve those who serve us by joining them in the everyday. We provide assistance and education to the heroes that sacrifice so much for us. Our non-profit was founded by veterans, first responders, and their families for veterans, first responders, and their families. We are focused on 3 areas of programming. The first is Operation Bootstrap. Our goal with Operation Bootstrap is to adjust the old adage of pick yourself up by your bootstraps to pick your buddies up by their bootstraps. Sometimes, the heroes that serve us so faithfully need an extra hand, from a cup of coffee to house renovations and everything in between. In 2021 we served 20 families and have already more than doubled that 6 months in as we have served 45 families by the end of June. Our second program is Operation RAK - Random Acts of Kindness. We find ways to make a difference for our heroes. We are working on building a model of community giving back for First Responder Family Fun Day. We have coordinated thank you drives for the various EMS, police, military, etc. weeks. Our third area is building a resiliency program to tackle the increased rate of suicide among first responders. This area is very unique and there are not agencies in our area (and few nationwide) that serve this population. We depend on them everyday to be there in the worst circumstances, we want to be there to help them so the things they say don't take them to a place they can't come back from.
Our founder is a veteran, first responder, and understands very much the needs out there. Dan Riggs co-founded it with his father Dr. Ross Riggs who is also a veteran, retired first responder, and an ordained pastor. Dr. Riggs has served internationally and in multiple leadership roles addressing some of the very things we tackle. Our VP of Community engagement is Suzanne Snyder, BS, SWA. She is not only a family member of veterans and first responders, she has spent 18 years in the non-profit world. Combined we have over 60 years of experience and work diligently to learn and grow every day. Our board is comprised of 7 community leaders, business persons, veterans, first responders who not only understand the mission and believe in it, but bring the experience to execute it. We have interest and support from major organizations that are known nationally and internationally.
Our goal is to find a philanthropist or supporter who sees and understands the unique needs our non-profit addresses and wants to come alongside us to make a larger impact and help our non-profit have the funding we need to help our mission grow into a strong avenue for change.
