Overview:
New Orleans is renowned for its exciting culture of live entertainment. Concerts, sports, dancing, bars, festivals, parades, casinos and a thousand dining options – practically every form of nighttime leisure activity is available with one glaring exception: stand-up comedy.
There’s a massive opportunity to launch a one-of-a-kind stand-up comedy venue in New Orleans. The Laugh Out Lounge will offer patrons a unique evening of performances by the top headlining comics in the nation. Management:
Managing Partner - Marcus Osborne:
Marcus is an entertainment and management veteran. After a twenty-year media career (radio, tv, print and online) covering entertainment, pop culture and sports as well as hosting a national radio show, Marcus segued into hospitality/venue management. After a near decade long run as operations manager of one of the nation’s most acclaimed comedy clubs, The San Francisco Punch Line, Marcus will tackle the day-to-day management, booking, marketing and promotion of, “The Laugh Out Lounge.”
Revenue Streams
Typical of all entertainment venues, the core revenue generator of our business will be food, beverage, and ticket sales. Operating days will be include six headliner shows Weds-Saturday (two shows on Friday & Saturday nights) and a showcase on Sundays. With a room cap of 180-200 people with room averages of 50% each show, (around 90 ppl per night) LOL will expect to average approximately 525-540, with sell out potential of attendees per week.
A fair and conservative projection of revenue for a typical/average week for shows alone at LOL would include:
$20.00 per ticket per person
$15.00 for drinks per person (2 drink min)
$7.00 in food per person
$42.00 per person X 540 ppl = $22,680 per week ($90,720 per month)
Revenue projection for sell out shows would be:
$20.00 per ticket per person
$15.00 for drinks per person (2 drink min)
$7.00 in food per person
$42.00 per person X 1080 ppl = $45,360 per week ($181,440 per month)
You’re looking at a million-plus per year from shows alone.
Shows would be staffed with 2-5 servers and 2-4 security personnel per show.
Typical show will include:
A national touring headlining stand-up comics performing a 50-60 minute set
A featuring stand-up comic performing a 20–30 minute set
A host/opening stand-up comic performing a 10-15 minute set
Post show, patrons will be invited to continue to enjoy the facility and listen to music playlist or live DJ who will play out the evening with a 2 hour set - thereby generating additional revenue via F&B and merch sales.
*Additional revenue will be generated by post-show F&B sales, private events, venue rentals and merch sales.
Use Of Funds
Investment funds will be used to cover minor venue renovations, sound & lighting upgrades, operations (staffing and talent fees, marketing & promotions)
Our Exit Strategy
The Laugh Out Lounge’s expected growth and popularity will lead to the launch of Laugh Out Lounge in multiple cities and/or name licensing and sale of the business. With payouts to partners and investors.
