Kraken Cafe

Kraken Cafe was founded in April of 2014 as a small minority woman owned business in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kraken cafe specializes in gourmet burgers and sandwiches as a company. We pride ourselves in our freshly baked buns that all our sandwiches and gourmet burgers are served on. Kraken specializes in breakfast catering, being a mobile food truck business, and on site caterer. We are in a unique position to facilitate the needs and aspirations of any true foodie with an eye for quality. Kraken has spent most of 2022 really laser focused on opening our first brick and mortar location here in Las Vegas, Nevada. With a lot of hard work and dedication Kraken obtained our first restaurant space to be more available to our broad fan base. Being a food truck owner here in Las Vegas has been no easy feat each year that passed becomes more challenging. Being that my partner and I both have formal chef backgrounds with well versed knowledge of food. Together we have made these past 8 years truly flourish by expanding our menu at the kraken. Given the opportunity we would be able to show case our true talents as black owned chefs here in Las Vegas with our unique burger concept. Great burgers are something far and in between you'll stumble upon in Las Vegas without strip prices. Our dream as entrepreneurs is to have a fully functional restaurant space centrally located that can provide absolute comfort to our fan base and their families. A few years from now my goal is to expand on the brick-and-mortar location we currently are trying to get fully open to be one of many locations. Ideally in two to three year’s time my husband and partner chef Elijahwan. Co-owner of kraken cafe would like to have a secondary kraken cafe location here in the Las Vegas valley. With power comes great responsibility being able to expand within the community as a minority owned business. Is something lacking in this day in age the small hole in the wall establishments such as myself remain hidden gems. Our goal as entrepreneurs is to achieve generational wealth to pass down to our friends, families, and the community. By supporting our own it will allow future young minds the ability to grow and become properly educated. At the end of my journey as a business owner there should be a long road of achievements to be proud of. I firmly believe that distributing the knowledge I was able to obtain as a strong African American business woman will inspire future entrepreneurs. To rise up to take the initiative to become independent and rely on their own experiences in life to succeed. To obtain a bountiful future that was built with their own two hands to one day share that same knowledge and power. It should be a rotating never ending cycle that will be what separates the weak from the strong. A community is a team effort with the proper foundation anything is possible.

Kraken Cafe being a provider of gourmet burgers and sandwiches on freshly baked buns and a provider of services to customers is only one of many roles that our company plays in the community. Our business is an employer, a standard bearer, and a community hub, just to name a few. And, we serve these roles for a diverse set of stakeholders including our customers, vendors, and charitable organizations. It's important that we stay in touch with the human component and physically get out into the market to get face-to-face with clients. Empowering our future employees to get involved with local organizations, whether that’s a nonprofit, a networking organization or something completely unrelated to work is important. Connections can form anywhere, and it’s important that our staff feels supported in pursuing interests outside of work. If kraken can open the doors to such great opportunities that would be a blessing in disguise.As business owners we take the time to listen and learn about our community. Being active and passionate about making a difference is our goal as chefs. When you listen and engage, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships and create an opportunity for unfiltered learning. Creating a strong organization means listening, learning and evolving. We need to be passionate about the needs of our community to be successful. Through our evolution as restaurant owners we would like to continue implementing these key aspects in our business. With a strong mindset and a proper foundation life will take you to endless heights.
