KLiC is an eSports event hosting platform that allows event organizers multiple ways to monetize their events. It provides a unique Multiview capability that allows spectators to simultaneously see every player's perspective and configure how they want to view an event. Although the platform is currently in beta, it boasts over 150 registered users and has hosted nearly 100 events since May 1 of this year.
In 2022 there were 5,376 eSports events (as registered by Escharts.com) put on by 1,376 different organizations. 90% of these organizations saw little to no revenue for their efforts, and most were not broadcast as live events. In addition to these known events, there are hundreds of influencers in each video game community that work on their own to run weekly tournaments and other events. All of these event organizers are missing out on, in some cases, making hundreds of thousands of dollars in subscription, pay-per-view, and advertisement sales that could be generated from their events.
KLiC exists to help them capitalize on this untapped potential. The platform will offer event organizers the ability to offer subscriptions to their events or give viewers the option to do a one-time pay-per-view. It will insert streaming and still ads automatically based on the conditions of the event. The platform will also allow organizers to capture the action of every participant to provide a full replay of the event as well as curated highlight reels and sizzle videos to promote subsequent events. The platform's analytics will also provide organizers with everything they need to operate their events as a proper business, giving them insight into which events and channels are the most popular and profitable.
For the viewer, KLiC will provide a unique and highly engaging experience. It will give a viewer access to every event participant's perspective, as well as any commentators and even live camera, feeds in the case of a LAN event. Viewers will be able to select which feeds they want to watch and change those feeds during the event itself. The platform will inform them of which feeds are the most watched, which are on the rise, and with the help of AI identify exciting moments and even automatically replay those moments.
At this point, KLiC is looking to complete its initial first funding round of $1M on a $5M valuation. $535K has already been raised from several individual angel investors, 2 of whom also serve as advisors to the company. In addition, several event organizers have committed to broadcasting their events on KLiC, which represents 92 events in the coming months. And finally, KLiC is currently in talks with other vendors to support direct streaming from gaming consoles, tournament scoring and bracket management, and integration to an influencer database to help organizers find the right people to be involved based on their gaming community.
The eSports market continues to show growth despite a slowdown in the tech sector. There is amazing untapped potential waiting to be unlocked. KLiC will be at the forefront of making that happen.
