According to Freeman et al. (2009), “there is a general lack of research within mental health and medical journals examining the role of spirituality” (p. 439). Additionally, military youth are often at risk for experiencing problems resulting from separation and deployment; and without adequate, supportive relationships and parenting, many military youths will struggle emotionally, spiritually, and even physically. Therefore, caregivers, clinicians, military leaders, and researchers must conduct further research regarding military youth resiliency programs and methods that will provide adequate resources, care, and support to all military youth.
