provides housing and aids young adults with IDD (Intellectual or Development Disability) learn skills to transition into independent living

The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) estimates that roughly 1.5% to 2.5% of the general population have an intellectual disability which translates to roughly 4.6 million to 7.7 million people as per the most recent U.S. Census (2011). Over the last 30 years, services provided to people with intellectual disabilities have been changed radically and institutional care has been replaced by community residential service in several countries.

Although the demand for housing or residential facilities for people with intellectual disabilities has been increasing in recent years, the adequate supply of such facilities has not kept the required pace. Therefore, there is a huge deficit in these facilities’ demand and supply. My project focuses on creating more facilities for that purpose. Teaching individuals with IDD gives them the skills, confidence and resources needed to function on their own in society.

Profit is made from each client. Charges will be on a sliding scale and supplemented by grants and government funding.

We have a targeted property for the group home we are in negotiation for a contract right now.  I have several clients who are interested in moving in when the facility is functional.

My first interest in launching this stems from the search for a suitable facility for my son with Autism. I know what I want his facility to do for him to make him an independent adult and want to ensure that others get what they need to function independently as well.

I am interviewing team members to staff the facility. This infrastructure will function as a prototype for future facilities.

I am creating a website and have the domain name for the website for advertising.

At this moment, I am seeking funding to acre an 8-acre ranch in Texas that would be perfect as the home for this facility.

I would like to buy it soon for minor rehab in preparation for a September 2022 opening.
