Product: Prototype/Proof of Concept Internet Safety Switch/Internet Circuit Breaker
The Idea for the internet safety switch came from observing traffic on my laptop, even when it was not in use. What if I had a door and a lock on my laptop from the internet. Most of the solutions currently depend on software, my personal knowledge and experience is that software can be breached but a hardware device are hard to breach. I worked on the concept. After discussing extensively and brainstorming with my friends in software engineering. This internet safety switch is the final outcome of that process. I can say confidently, some of the best lessons we learn are from our mistakes.
Most of the solutions in the market today for internet and laptop safety rely on reactive based software, not proactive like internet safety switch that is a combination of hardware and software.
This switch shields computers even when in hibernation, not in use, or service from external probing of ports, hackers, malware installation, ransomware, and extortion. This is especially useful for personal computers, small businesses, financial and the defense industry, which works with sensitive information and data, where the individual units have to be isolated for service 24/7.
This is an inline external switch that will terminate an incoming/outgoing internet connection including WiFi with a visual indication through means of a led. It also will act as an emergency circuit breaker. This device is a combination of mechanical and software, and cannot be overridden using software or other means, except by the end-user.
The end-user will be able to exercise full control over their computer's ability to connect or not to connect. This switch will have a high degree of security & reliability. At present, I have patented both the variants of Internet Safety Switch with USPTO.gov
The prototype/Proof of Concept has to be made and tested for quality and reliability. This will be an external inline device/switch that even a novice can install in less than 5 minutes. Even the US government network is hard wired to meet security regulations and prevent intrusions in the networks.
The switch does not need maintenance or updates. This product can be used by domestic consumers, businesses, defense contractors, banking institutions, pharmaceuticals & govt. To ensure additional security of data and devices.
After the installation of the device, the computer can be stopped from becoming part of a botnet, ransomware, or a security breach, which happens often on computers open/visible on the internet.
There are about one million zombie computers currently engaged in criminal enterprises and looting of Intellectual property and personal & Business bank accounts. Without the owner's knowledge, due to malware on their computers. This switch also assists in isolating a computer for the purposes of cleaning up malware, adware, and tracking cookies.
We expect this switch to be as common as the use of a mouse or trackpad on computers. There will be two variants the first one will be for the existing generation of computers and will be external in nature.
The second version will be built into computers by manufacturers and will be part of a computer safety device.
We will continue developing a prototype and ultimately have it manufactured in The US for domestic and worldwide markets.
This will generate employment and payroll for Americans. Unlike other companies, we will not manufacture the product overseas for the sake of saving a few dollars and will keep the final regular commercial production in us.
The current US market is estimated conservatively at 100+ million computers, then there are Australian, Canadian, European, and UK markets, this excludes businesses, financial institutions, pharmaceuticals, small businesses, govt, and defense contractors.
Once the project is fully funded we expect to be in business 8-10 months or less from the funding date. The technology and hardware already exist and have to be customized, to meet end objectives. Currently, the product is for Win OS but will be developing a version for Mac OS at a later date.
We are looking for an initial investment of approximately US$ 708,888 in the first step from single or multiple investors and the balance of funds will be raised through partners to design, develop, and manufacture the first production run, websites, and last but not least US and international patents, marketing.
